REGULAR 11EETING JANUARY 10 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 1977 by Chairman Pro -Ten Patrick <br />M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. <br />Sanford Brooks, Deputy City Attorney, and Terr'T Crone, Legal Interne, <br />were also present. <br />ELECTION OF PRESIDENT OF BOARD <br />Mr. Mullen said the first order of business should be the election of <br />a President of the Board of Public Works. He made a motion that <br />Patrick McMahon be elected President of the Board. Mr. Brunner seconded <br />the motion and it carried,,with Mr. McMahon abstaining. <br />REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Mr. Brunner noted that he had reviewed the minutes of the meeting of <br />January 4, 1977 and he riade a notion that the minutes be approved.as <br />submitted, Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL FOR 1977 <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for gasoline and fuel oil <br />for 1977. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the <br />South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Amoco Oil Company <br />Detroit, Michigan <br />Mr. H. L. Heinig, on behalf_ of Amoco Oil Compan-ST, submitted a letter <br />advising that federal regulations control the allocation of volumes <br />of gasoline and they are precluded from submitting a bid. The letter <br />stated that they would continue to honor their present cor.xiitrlent <br />to supply the City with Amoco Regular Gasoline at 37.71� per gallon <br />and Amoco Lead Free Gasoline at 39.39G per gallon. <br />Frasch-Portage Oil Cor_ipany Bid was signed by William E. <br />P. 0. Box 135 Frasch, non -collusion <br />Mishawaka, Indiana affidavit was in order and <br />a lOQo bid bond was submitted. <br />120,000 gallons Regular Gasoline, Tanlravagon Delivery - .409G-$49,080.00 <br />275,000 gallons Fuel Oil and Diesel Fuel Oil, Tankwagon <br />#1 Diesel .39 <br />#2 Premium Diesel.39 <br />#2 Fuel Oil .38 <br />#2 Regular Diesel.38 $105,875.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bids were referred to the Department of Administration and <br />Finance for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SERVICES, lIU14ICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for Janitorial Services <br />for the Municipal Services Facility from February 1, 1977 through <br />January 31, 1978. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County News which <br />were found to be sufficient. <br />ABC Janitorial Services <br />821 Notre Dane Avenue lion -collusion affidavit was in order <br />South Bend, Indiana and a 5 bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - $1,915.00 per month. 522,930.00 per year <br />
