ME <br />REGULAR METING <br />DECEMBER 6. 1976 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works` - was convened at <br />9:30 a.m, on Monday, December 6, 1976 by President Rollin Farrand <br />with Mr. Farrand, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Georgia Luks was also present. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Brunner reported that the minutes of the November 29 meeting had <br />been reviewedandhe made a notion that the minutes be accepted as <br />submitted. Mr. Farrand seconded the motion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSE <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for hose for the Fire <br />Department. The Clergy: tendered proofs of publication of notice in <br />the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to <br />be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Hoosier Fire Eguipment Company Bid was signed by Nick D. Swartz <br />non -collusion affidavit eras in <br />order and 4 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - 1600 feet Y' fire hose @ 2.85' - $4,560.00 <br />1000 feet 2" fine hose @ 1.95' 1,950.00 <br />300 feet,l2" fire hose @ 1.58'- 474.00 <br />6, 9 <br />Midwest Fire & Safes <br />Bid - 1600 feet 3" fire hose @ - <br />1000 feet 22" fire hose @ <br />300 feet 1?" fire hose @ <br />Hawk Fire Apparatus <br />Bid was signed by Michael R. Casse <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10io bid bond was <br />subr._ii t t e d . <br />$7,200.00 <br />3,320.00 <br />708.00 <br />11,228.00 <br />Bid was signed by Robert Hawk, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 10°10 bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - 1600 feet 3" fire hose @ 2.04' <br />1000 feet 2z" fire hose @ 1.62' <br />300 feet 12" fire hose @ 1.06" <br />Prices were not extended and the bidder did submit an alternate bid. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to the Fire Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />DISPOSAL OF POLICE BUS APPROVED <br />Chief Michael Borkowski requested that the Board approve the return of <br />a bus from the Police Department to. the Transportation Corporation. <br />The bus was given to the Department some years ago but it is, not <br />possible to get replacement parts for it and the Transportation Corpora- <br />tion would dispose of the unit. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the request to <br />remove the bus from the Police Department vehicle list and return it <br />to the Transportation Corporation. <br />
