414 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 20, 1982 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, September 20, 1982, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney <br />Carolyn Pfotenhauer. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the recommendation of the City Controller to deny the <br />taxi driver's license application of Danny J. Fry was added to <br />the agenda following the award for construction of a salt storage <br />facility. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the minutes of the September 13, 1982, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved as submitted. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - DUBAIL STREET BRIDGE RAIL IMPROVEMENTS <br />This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the Dubail <br />Street Bridge Rail Improvements Project. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids <br />were opened and publicly read:, <br />The Robert Henry Corporation Bid was signed by Robert A. <br />P. 0. Box 1407 Henry, non -collusion affidavit <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624 was in order, and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />$18,472.00 <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Co. <br />P. 0. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />$14,469.20 <br />Ziolkowski Construction Co. <br />P. 0. Box 1106 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624 <br />$15,793.00 <br />Bid was signed by Richard D. <br />Ruhlman, non -collusion affidavit <br />was in order, and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted <br />Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order, and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS AND BID AWARD - 1982 SCARIFICATION <br />AND PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS <br />This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the 1982 <br />Scarification and Pavement Improvements Project. The Clerk <br />tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient.
