411 REGULAR MEETING ISEPTEMBER 13, 1982 APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO DENY INSTALLATION OF HANDICAPPED SIGN - 117 NORTH NOIRE DAME AVENUE Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended denial of the request received on August 16, 1982, from Dorothy Ross, on behalf of Emma Roessler, for a handicapped parking sign in front of Mrs. Roessler's home Iat 117 N. Notre Dame Avenue. It was noted that placement of handicapped signs at this time has been restricted to business district areas to provide on -street parking spaces for the handicapped where they cannot be provided off-street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski., seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recommendation to deny the request was approved. APPROVE PARADE OF PROGRESSIVE BAPTIST CHURCH The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting submitted a favorable recommenda- tion for the request of the Progressive Baptist Church to conduct a street parade on September 19, 1982, starting at 9:30 a.m., at 331 South Scott Street, subject to the following route change: East on Western and Jefferson to St. Louis, south on St. Louis to Wayne, east on Wayne to Sunnyside, and Q south on Sunnyside to Bronson. It was noted that the required Certificate of Insurance for use of the city streets for the parade was in order and on file in the Board office. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE DATE OF MICHIANA LUNG RUN - JUNE 11, 1983 The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended approval of the date of June 11, 1983, for the annual Michiana Lung Run. It was noted that a meeting would be scheduled between the city and representatives of the Lung Run to discuss the race and submit final recommendations to the Board concerning the route and starting time. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the date of June 11, 1983, was approved and reserved for the Michiana Lung Run sponsored by the American Lung Association. APPROVE DATE OF SPORTS MED 10K FOOTRACE - NOVEMBER 7. 1982 The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended approval of the date of November 7, 1982, for the Sports Med 10K Footrace sponsored by St. Joseph's Medical Center, with final recommenda- tions to be submitted to the Board at its September 20th meeting concerning the route and starting time. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the date of November 7, 1982, was approved and reserved for the Sports Med 10K race. APPROVE STREET CLOSURES FOR EDGEWATER PLACE 111STORI'CAL TOUR Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended approval of the request of Southhold Restoration to close the following streets on September 26, 1982; from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., for the Edgewater Place Historical Tour of Homes: Monroe Street from Lincolnway East to Edgewater Drive, Arch Avenue from Lincolnway East to Edgewater Drive,' Bronson Court from the first alley east of Lincolnway East to Edgewater Drive, Edgewater Drive from Monroe to Bronson Court, and River Avenue from Monroe to Arch. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation was approved subject to the maintenance of a 12 foot clear and unobstructed lane at either curb or down the center of the street for emergency purposes.
