376 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 9, 1982 Riverside from Forest to Dushane Court Forest from Riverside to LaMonte Terrace Park Avenue from Riverside to Navarre LaMonte Terrace from Forest to Park Manitou from Forest to Park Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendation for street closures was approved. FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS A list containing 61 lots ordered cleaned by the Director of the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was submitted. It was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the environmental list was .filed. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the license application of Arnold Barrier, 1109 Bryan, for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal License was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. It was noted that a favorable inspection of the truck to be used for the hauling of the garbage had been conducted by Loren Dyas of the Solid Waste Department. APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance: Walter L. Liszewski, 1247 Queen, S.B. Ella Mary Brinkman, 1921 S. Ironwood, S.B. Minnie Hatcher, 1046 N. Huey, S.B. June Freeman, 19799 Southland, S.B. Francis Ray Scheibelhut, 56200 Miller, Mish. Marjory Streich, 501 E. Eckman, S.B. FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT The report indicated a total of 13 outages for the period of July 31 through August 6, 1982. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Mr. Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Director of the Michiana Area CETA Consortium, submitted purchase orders totalling 27 and recommended approval. Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim Docket No. 14688 through No. 15102 and recommended approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the reports were filed and the claims approved. COMPLAINT OF BLOCKED DRIVEWAYS ON COLLEGE AND ORANGE STREETS Councilman Walter Szymkowiak brought to the Board's attention the problem of blocked drive entrances by residents in the area of the Martin Luther King Center at College and Orange Streets. He stated that persons utilizing the facility constantly park their cars in such a fashion so as to block the entrances to residents' driveways. He asked that "no parking" signs be placed at the intersection in an effort to solve the problem. Mr. Leszczynski informed Councilman Szymkowiak that he would discuss the problem with the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting to see what could be done to eliminate the problem. 1
