376 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 9, 1982 <br />Riverside from Forest to Dushane Court <br />Forest from Riverside to LaMonte Terrace <br />Park Avenue from Riverside to Navarre <br />LaMonte Terrace from Forest to Park <br />Manitou from Forest to Park <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above recommendation for street closures was approved. <br />FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS <br />A list containing 61 lots ordered cleaned by the Director of the <br />Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was submitted. It was noted <br />that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and <br />had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the environmental list was .filed. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the license application of Arnold Barrier, 1109 Bryan, <br />for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal License was approved and <br />referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. It was <br />noted that a favorable inspection of the truck to be used for <br />the hauling of the garbage had been conducted by Loren Dyas of <br />the Solid Waste Department. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved <br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance: <br />Walter L. Liszewski, 1247 Queen, S.B. <br />Ella Mary Brinkman, 1921 S. Ironwood, S.B. <br />Minnie Hatcher, 1046 N. Huey, S.B. <br />June Freeman, 19799 Southland, S.B. <br />Francis Ray Scheibelhut, 56200 Miller, Mish. <br />Marjory Streich, 501 E. Eckman, S.B. <br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT <br />The report indicated a total of 13 outages for the period of <br />July 31 through August 6, 1982. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Mr. Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Director of the Michiana Area CETA <br />Consortium, submitted purchase orders totalling 27 and recommended <br />approval. Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim <br />Docket No. 14688 through No. 15102 and recommended approval. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the reports were filed and the claims approved. <br />COMPLAINT OF BLOCKED DRIVEWAYS ON COLLEGE AND ORANGE STREETS <br />Councilman Walter Szymkowiak brought to the Board's attention the <br />problem of blocked drive entrances by residents in the area of <br />the Martin Luther King Center at College and Orange Streets. <br />He stated that persons utilizing the facility constantly park <br />their cars in such a fashion so as to block the entrances to <br />residents' driveways. He asked that "no parking" signs be <br />placed at the intersection in an effort to solve the problem. <br />Mr. Leszczynski informed Councilman Szymkowiak that he would <br />discuss the problem with the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />to see what could be done to eliminate the problem. <br />1 <br />
