372 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 9, 1982 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works believes that it is in <br />the best interests of the City of South Bend that a portion <br />of the public right-of-way extending from Woodward Court <br />to Michigan Street be leased; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has given notice pursuant <br />to I.C. 5-3-1 and has conducted a public hearing on the <br />desirability of offering a portion of Allen's Alley for lease. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />1. That a recommendation be made to the Mayor <br />that the lease of a portion of the public <br />right-of-way commonly referred to as Allen's <br />Alley extending from Woodward Court east to <br />Michigan Street be approved, subject to <br />acceptance by the Board of Public Works of <br />certain lease terms. <br />2. Kernan <br />AWARD BID - REROOFING OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, recom- <br />mended the Board award the low bid of Fenner Roofing and Sheet <br />Metal, Inc., in the amount of $177,670.00.for Alternate No. 1, <br />Single -Ply System Roofing (Carlisle Design B) for the Municipal <br />Services Facility structure at 701 West Sample Street. It was <br />noted that bids for the project had been received by the Board <br />at its August 2, 1982, regular meeting. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recom- <br />mendation was approved and the bid awarded. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT <br />(LaFREE EXCAVATING - WESTERN & CHAPIN RADIUS IMPROVEMENTS) <br />Change Order No. 1 (final) in the amount of an increase of <br />$954.39 on the Western and Chapin Radius Improvement Project <br />was submitted by LaFree Excavating for Board approval. Mr. <br />Leszczynski noted that the increase reflected actual "as built" <br />quantities in the completion of the project. The Project <br />Completion Affidavit was also submitted indicating a total <br />contract cost of $16,726.74, along with a three-year Maintenance <br />Bond. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the above Change Order and Project Completion <br />Affidavit were approved and the Maintenance Bond convering a <br />three-year period to August 9, 1935, was filed. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT <br />(RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION - CBD SITE IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE I) <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Company submitted Change Order No. 1 <br />(final) in the amount of an increase of $4,882.43 for work done <br />on the Central Business District Site Improvements, Phase I. <br />Also submitted was the Project Completion Affidavit indicating <br />a total contract cost of $13,797.93 for the project, and a three- <br />year Maintenance Bond. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Change Order and Project <br />Completion Affidavit were approved and the Maintenance Bond covering <br />a three-year period to August 9, 1985, was filed. <br />
