372 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 9, 1982 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works believes that it is in the best interests of the City of South Bend that a portion of the public right-of-way extending from Woodward Court to Michigan Street be leased; and WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has given notice pursuant to I.C. 5-3-1 and has conducted a public hearing on the desirability of offering a portion of Allen's Alley for lease. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: 1. That a recommendation be made to the Mayor that the lease of a portion of the public right-of-way commonly referred to as Allen's Alley extending from Woodward Court east to Michigan Street be approved, subject to acceptance by the Board of Public Works of certain lease terms. 2. That a lease for use and maintenance of said property be advertised and negotiated pursuant to I.C. 36-1-11. Dated: August 9, 1982 ATTEST: s/ Barbara J. Byers, Clerk BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS s/ John E. Kernan AWARD BID - REROOFING OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, recom- mended the Board award the low bid of Fenner Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc., in the amount of $177,670.00.for Alternate No. 1, Single -Ply System Roofing (Carlisle Design B) for the Municipal Services Facility structure at 701 West Sample Street. It was noted that bids for the project had been received by the Board at its August 2, 1982, regular meeting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recom- mendation was approved and the bid awarded. APPROVE CHANGE ORDER AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT (LaFREE EXCAVATING - WESTERN & CHAPIN RADIUS IMPROVEMENTS) Change Order No. 1 (final) in the amount of an increase of $954.39 on the Western and Chapin Radius Improvement Project was submitted by LaFree Excavating for Board approval. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the increase reflected actual "as built" quantities in the completion of the project. The Project Completion Affidavit was also submitted indicating a total contract cost of $16,726.74, along with a three-year Maintenance Bond. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit were approved and the Maintenance Bond convering a three-year period to August 9, 1935, was filed. APPROVE CHANGE ORDER AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT (RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION - CBD SITE IMPROVEMENTS, PHASE I) Rieth-Riley Construction Company submitted Change Order No. 1 (final) in the amount of an increase of $4,882.43 for work done on the Central Business District Site Improvements, Phase I. Also submitted was the Project Completion Affidavit indicating a total contract cost of $13,797.93 for the project, and a three- year Maintenance Bond. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Change Order and Project Completion Affidavit were approved and the Maintenance Bond covering a three-year period to August 9, 1985, was filed.
