3'70 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OPE14ING OF BIDS - MONROE-SAMPLE REDEVELOPMENT, PHASE I <br />AUGUST 9, 1982 <br />This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the redevelop- - <br />ment of the Monroe -Sample area,.Phase I. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Batteast Construction Company Bid was signed by Robert V. <br />430 East LaSalle Batteast, non -collusion affidavit <br />South Bend, Indiana 46617 was in order, and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />$100,517.51 <br />Ziolkowski Construction, Inc. <br />1005 S. Lafayette <br />P. 0. Box 1106 <br />$ 84,030.50 <br />McIntyre & Jones Construction <br />2526 West 6th Street <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 <br />$ 84,713.15 <br />Rieth-Riley Construction Co. <br />P. 0. Box 1775 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />$ 89,374.80 <br />Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order, and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Kenneth A. , - <br />Mclntyre, non -collusion affidavit <br />was in order, and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted. - <br />Bid was signed by Richard D. <br />Ruhlman, non -collusion affidavit <br />was in order, and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the engineer's estimate for the above <br />project was $103,000.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to <br />the Bureau of Public Construction for review and recommendation, <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 20, 1982 - DISPOSE OF OBSOLETE VEHICLES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20, 1982 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />that two street sweepers, one being an Elgin and one a Tennant, <br />are obsolete and no longer needed or are unfit for the purpose <br />for which they were intended. <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the sale of personal <br />property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />of the City of South Bend that the Elgin and Tennant street <br />sweepers listed above are obsolete and not needed by the City <br />of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance <br />be authorized to dispose of said vehicles and to remove same <br />from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: August 9, 1982 <br />ATTEST: <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E.
