J3 REGULAR MEETING JUNE 28', 1982 APPROVE ROAD RUNS - PEPSI CHALLENGE & McDONALD'S/SPECIAL OLYMPICS Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended favorably the requests submitted by Dean Reinke, Director of Sports Medicine at St. Joseph's Medical Center, for road runs to be held on July 11, 1982, commencing at 9:00 a.m., using a section of the Rum Village road run route; and on August 7, 1982, utilizing the Pinhook Park road run route extending to Leeper Park. The latter route would consist of the long route to Pinhook from Leeper and back, as well as a 12 mile route from Leeper to Angela Boulevard and back. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above races and recommendations from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting were approved. APPROVE BLOCK PARTIES The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended Board action on the following requests for block parties, subject to the maintenance of a 12-foot clear and unobstructed emergency lane �. at either curb or down the center of the street: 1200 Woodward - July 3, 1982, afternoon and evening (rain date of July 5). Requested by Fred Smith, 1202 Portage Avenue. Bulla at Brookfield west one-half block - July 3, 1982, during daylight hours. Requested by Joyce Peabody, 1904 Bulla Avenue. East South Street, 1300 block - July 23, 1982, 3:00 p.m. to midnight (raindate of July 24). Requested by Carol Farrell, 1344 E. South St. Pennsylvania between Fellows and Rush — July 5, 1982, from noon to 6:30 p.m. Requested by Algerine Henderson, 520 E. Pennsylvania. Rush Street from Pennsylvania to first alley south - July 18, 1982, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Requested by Algerine Henderson, 520 E. Pennsylvania, for church function. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above block party requests were approved as recommended. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS The following Open Air Stand License applications were submitted to the Board for approval: Greg L. Gaul,- Hickory and McKinley James Carroll - 1440 E. Calvert Becky Wagner - 421 S. Eddy Daniel Stanton, Sr. - Southeast corner of Haney & Michigan Mr. Leszczynski noted that all locations were approved for proper zoning, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting had no objection to the location of the stands provided they remained off public right-of-way, were back far enough onto private property, and at least one off-street parking space was provided on private property. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the license applications for Greg Gaul, James Carroll and Becky Wagner were requested for the sale of fireworks, and an inspection would be conducted by the Fire Prevention Bureau to confirm that all fireworks
