J3 <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 28', 1982 <br />APPROVE ROAD RUNS - PEPSI CHALLENGE & McDONALD'S/SPECIAL OLYMPICS <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, recommended favorably the requests submitted by Dean <br />Reinke, Director of Sports Medicine at St. Joseph's Medical <br />Center, for road runs to be held on July 11, 1982, commencing <br />at 9:00 a.m., using a section of the Rum Village road run route; <br />and on August 7, 1982, utilizing the Pinhook Park road run route <br />extending to Leeper Park. The latter route would consist of <br />the long route to Pinhook from Leeper and back, as well as a <br />12 mile route from Leeper to Angela Boulevard and back. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above races and recommendations from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting were approved. <br />APPROVE BLOCK PARTIES <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended Board action on <br />the following requests for block parties, subject to the <br />maintenance of a 12-foot clear and unobstructed emergency lane <br />�. at either curb or down the center of the street: <br />1200 Woodward - July 3, 1982, afternoon and evening <br />(rain date of July 5). Requested by Fred Smith, <br />1202 Portage Avenue. <br />Bulla at Brookfield west one-half block - July 3, <br />1982, during daylight hours. Requested by Joyce <br />Peabody, 1904 Bulla Avenue. <br />East South Street, 1300 block - July 23, 1982, <br />3:00 p.m. to midnight (raindate of July 24). <br />Requested by Carol Farrell, 1344 E. South St. <br />Pennsylvania between Fellows and Rush — July 5, <br />1982, from noon to 6:30 p.m. Requested by Algerine <br />Henderson, 520 E. Pennsylvania. <br />Rush Street from Pennsylvania to first alley south - <br />July 18, 1982, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Requested by Algerine Henderson, 520 E. <br />Pennsylvania, for church function. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above block party requests were approved as <br />recommended. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />The following Open Air Stand License applications were submitted <br />to the Board for approval: <br />Greg L. Gaul,- Hickory and McKinley <br />James Carroll - 1440 E. Calvert <br />Becky Wagner - 421 S. Eddy <br />Daniel Stanton, Sr. - Southeast corner of Haney & Michigan <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that all locations were approved for proper <br />zoning, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting had no objection <br />to the location of the stands provided they remained off public <br />right-of-way, were back far enough onto private property, and <br />at least one off-street parking space was provided on private <br />property. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the license applications <br />for Greg Gaul, James Carroll and Becky Wagner were requested <br />for the sale of fireworks, and an inspection would be conducted <br />by the Fire Prevention Bureau to confirm that all fireworks <br />
