333 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 21, 1982 <br />WHEREAS, no code violations on said property existed <br />as evidenced by the Neighborhood Code Enforcement <br />Office inspection report; however, a recommendation <br />was made by the Fire Prevention Bureau on May 13, <br />1982, that all hand fire extinguishers be checked <br />and recharged if necessary since it appeared some <br />extinguishers had been used; and <br />WHEREAS, compliance with a 15-foot buffer strip <br />between the property lines and fencing which abuts <br />public right-of-way is required on all new businesses <br />or existing businesses which expand after July 1, <br />1980, as stipulated in Ordinance No. 6998-81. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the <br />license application of Herman T. Williams for opera- <br />tion of a scrap yard at the premises located at 1819 <br />South Main Street be approved based.on the following: <br />1. Full compliance with Fire Department <br />recommendations and regulations regard- <br />ing fire prevention measures; and full <br />Q compliance with applicable requirements <br />regarding establishment of a buffer <br />strip and any other changes necessary <br />in fencing as a result of said buffer <br />strip., <br />2. Said license for operation of the facility <br />under the name of South Main Auto Parts <br />shall be issued only after full compliance <br />of all aforesaid requirements is met. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be <br />subject to approval and ratification by the Common Council. <br />Dated: June 21, 1982 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Byers, Clerk <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved <br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for 'issuance: <br />Andrew Crawford, 52943 Juniper Rd., S.B. <br />George A. Doolittle, 811 E. 4th, Mish. <br />Mary E. North, 529 Leland <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS' BONDS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the following Contractors' Bonds were approved <br />as recommended by Mr. Raymond S. Andrysiak: <br />H. Bruce Weaver Retroactive to June 14, 1982 <br />722 Washington <br />Plymouth, Indiana <br />Charles J. Hagye Retroactive to June 16, 1982 <br />1323 East Dayton <br />South Bend, Indian <br />Kirk J. Robbins d/b/a Hallmark Builders <br />221 E. Marion <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />
