329 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 21, 1982 <br />,,with South Bend being one of the planned stops for the torch <br />relay. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mr. Hill and carried,,the requests were approved, with the <br />actual route to be used in the Sports Torch Relay to be <br />approved by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Traffic Division. <br />APPROVE ADDITIONAL ETHNIC FESTIVAL BOOTHS AND STREET CLOSURES <br />Ms. Mikki Dobski, Coordinator for the Ethnic Festival, submitted <br />the following of additional food and craft booths, and display <br />booths for inclusion in the upcoming Ethnic Festival: <br />FOOD CRAFT <br />1. Psalm-150 Radio Ministry, 1. Shar Joyce <br />2. Michiana Opera Guild 2. Country Creations <br />3. Baldy's Mideastern 3. Teena Russell, <br />4. Our Lady of Hungary 4. Reins of Life, Inc. <br />5. Michiana Korean Church <br />DISPLAY <br />1. Unity for Peace <br />�[ 2. Centrala <br />3. St. Joseph Democratic Party <br />4. Baha'i Faith <br />5. Northern Indiana L5 Society <br />6. St. Joseph County Right to Life <br />7. First United Methodist Church <br />8. St. Joseph County Republican Party <br />9. Sam Shapiro (chess tournament) <br />10. Child Evangelism Fellowship <br />11. League of Women Voters <br />She recommended Board approval of the above applications for <br />booths, noting that it appeared approximately 80 booths at <br />this time would be set up for the Festival. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above booths were approved. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following street closures and traffic control were <br />approved for the Ethnic Festival as recommended by the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting: <br />Closing of Jefferson Boulevard between Rasmussen <br />Court and St. Joseph (All day July 3 and 4) <br />Closing of Colfax between Main and St. Joseph <br />(6:00 p.m, to 8:30 p.m., July 4) - At discretion <br />of police officer in charge. <br />East Jefferson at Century Center (8:00 a.m. to <br />8:15 a.m., July 4) - For Paul F. Boehm race. <br />Columbia between Monroe and Jefferson (4:30 p.m. <br />to 6:30 p.m.,, July 3 and 4) - For balloon race, <br />weather permitting. <br />Old Michigan, 100 block north, from Washington to <br />lst Source Center Parking Garage (8:00 a.m. to <br />4:00 p.m., July 3) - For Fire Department Water <br />Ball contest. Also, "No Parking" midnight (July 2) <br />to 4:00 p.m, (July 3). <br />
