326 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 21, 19'8 2 <br />requirement of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting was that a pre <br />qualified signal contractor perform all signal work necessary, <br />and, since LaSalle Street (U.S. 20) was being used, a State <br />Highway permit was necessary. Mrs. Oliver Parcher, 509 West <br />Jefferson Street, asked where the building would be situated on <br />the lot at 420 West Washington. Mr. Jeffrey Gibboney, Director <br />of Southold Heritage Foundation, stated that the structure would <br />be situated on the southeast corner of the Tower Federal Savings <br />& Loan parking lot and would be set back the same distance as <br />other buildings on the street. He stated that General Micro <br />Computer would utilize the structure as its corporate offices. <br />Mrs. Parcher asked when the renovation work would be concluded, <br />and Mr. Gibboney stated that a deadline was the middle of September. <br />Mrs. Parcher expressed her support for the move to the Tower lot. <br />Mr. Leszczynski asked Timothy J. Lykowski of Lykowski Construction <br />Company, if he had received a state permit for using LaSalle <br />Street. Mr. Lykowski stated that the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting had not yet approved the signal contractor prior to <br />sending on to the State Highway Commission. He confirmed that he <br />had hired a qualified signal contractor for this work and also <br />that off -duty policemen had been hired to assist in traffic control <br />as suggested. It was noted that all adjacent property owners had <br />been notified of the move and no one was present to speak against <br />the house move. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the public hearing was closed. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the house move was approved subject to the requirements of the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and Police Traffic Division. <br />APPROVE RATE INCREASE (INDIANA CABLEVISION CORPORATION) <br />This was the date set for the public hearing on the proposed rate <br />increase of Indiana Cablevision Corporation. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and <br />the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. It was <br />noted that a petition for the proposed rate increase had been <br />filed with the Board on June 7, 1982, for public hearing at this <br />time. Mr. William Moss, General Manager for Indiana Cablevision, <br />explained that Indiana Cablevision was proposing to increase its <br />$resent monthly fee for basic cable service to $10.95 from the <br />8.95 fee, effective September 1, 1982. Also proposed was an <br />increase in the monthly additional outlet fee to $4.95 from the <br />$2.50 monthly rate. He explained further that Cable Television <br />would be adding six new, full-time channels for its viewers for <br />a total of 18 channels. The new channels included: <br />Daytime and Modern Satellite Network designed and <br />programmed specifically for the woman of today. <br />Nickelodeon, the only TV channel devoted exclusively <br />to commercial -free programming for young people and <br />the only channel endorsed by the National Education <br />Association. <br />The Cable News Network, a full-time news channel. <br />The Financial News Network bringing up-to-the-minute <br />financial and business related news from both stock <br />exchanges and the business world. <br />The Weather Channel, the only 24-hour weather station <br />reporting weather on the national, regional and local <br />fronts. <br />The Music Channel, the first video radio station with <br />programming 24 hours with the music performed by the <br />original artists. <br />
