313 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 7, 1982 <br />APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY <br />(1125 AND 1129 SOUTH LAFAYETTE AND 311 STULL) <br />Mr. Kernan stated that, in accordance with bids received and <br />awarded by the Board on May 24, 1982, Purchase Agreements <br />had been prepared and executed by James G. Wood for the <br />city —owned properties located at 1125 and 1129 S. Lafayette <br />in the amount of $1,400.00, and the city -owned property <br />located at 311 Stull Street in the amount of $190.00. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the Purchase Agreements were approved, and the matter referred <br />to the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate Quitclaim <br />Deed conveying the property to Mr. Wood. <br />APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED <br />PROPERTY (222 NORTH O'BRIEN) <br />A Purchase Agreement was submitted for Board approval for the <br />sale of city -owned property located at 222 North O'Brien <br />Street to J. Findley May in the amount of $140.00 in accordance <br />�. with the bid received and awarded by the Board on May 24, 1982. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the Purchase Agreement was approved, and the matter <br />Q referred to the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate <br />Q Quitclaim Deed conveying the property to Mr. Wood. <br />APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED <br />PROPERTY (218 SOUTH ILLINOIS.STREET) <br />Mr. Kernan advised that a Purchase Agreement had been signed by <br />Mr. Ralph.Shead for the purchase of City -owned property owned <br />by the Bureau of Housing at 218 South Illinois Street in the <br />amount of $200.00 in accordance with the bid received and <br />awarded by the Board on May 24, 1982. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr..Hill and carried, the Purchase <br />Agreement was approved, and the matter referred to the Legal <br />Department for drafting of the appropriate Quitclaim Deed <br />conveying the property to Mr.. Shead. <br />RELEASE IRREVOCABLE LETTER OF CREDIT - LaFREE EXCAVATING <br />(PRAIRIE AVENUE SEWER PROJECT) <br />Mr. Kernan advised that, on February 16, 1982, the Board filed <br />the Irrevocable Letter of Credit of St. Joseph Bank & Trust <br />Company, on behalf of LaFree Excavating, in the amount of <br />$800.00 for failure to make necessary repairs on pavement at <br />Olive and Prairie, which intersection was damaged during <br />construction of the Prairie Avenue sewer. Mr. Kernan stated <br />that the Engineering Department had recommended the Letter of <br />Credit be released since the repair work had been done to the <br />city's satisfaction. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the Irrevocable Letter of <br />Credit No. 3414 dated February 3, 1982, was released. <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 16, 1982 - APPROVING SCRAP <br />DEALER'S LICENSE FOR THE PRAIRIE COMPANY <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16..1982 <br />WHEREAS, a license application for the operation of a <br />recycling/transfer station for the year 1982 has been <br />received by the Board of Public Works for The Prairie. <br />Company, 1100 Prairie Avenue, South Bend, Indiana; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-51 of the South <br />Bend Municipal Code, it has been determined that the <br />premises is not located within 1,000 feet of certain <br />zoning districts and is, therefore, permitted at the <br />above location; and <br />
