<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and.
<br />carried, the above Contractors' Bonds were approved retro-
<br />active to the above dates.
<br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S BOND - RICHARD C. HANNA, JR.
<br />A request for the release of the Contractor's Bond of Richard
<br />C. Hanna, Jr. was recommended for Board approval_ following a
<br />review of the request by Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried., the above
<br />bond was released.
<br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
<br />Upon .a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved
<br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance,:

<br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the Certificate of Insurance for the Muncie Tree Surgery Corpora-
<br />tion was filed.
<br />FILING OF STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT
<br />The report indicated a total of 35 outages for the period of
<br />May 14 through June 3, 1982. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the report was filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS
<br />Mr. Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Director of the Michiana CETA Consortium,
<br />submitted P. 0. No. 1014 through No. 1037 and recommended approval.
<br />Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim Docket No.
<br />9510 through No. 10566 and recommended approval. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the reports
<br />were filed and the claims approved.
<br />COMPLAINT RE: USE OF PUBLIC SIDEWALK FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES
<br />Councilman Walter Szymkowiak advised the Board that he had
<br />observed several businesses using the public sidewalks for the
<br />display of merchandise. He asked if this was permitted, and
<br />Mr. Hill advised that the use of the public sidewalk for any
<br />purpose must be approved by the Board. Councilman Szymkowiak
<br />felt the use of the sidewalks for this purpose was becoming
<br />quite common and there were many instances where this was being
<br />done. He asked that an effort be made to try and eliminate this
<br />unsightly occurrence. Mr. Hill asked that Councilman Szymkowiak
<br />provide him with a list of the establishments and the Legal
<br />Department would follow up on the matter.
