REGULAR MEETING I MAY 24, 1982 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, May 24, 1982, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn Pfotenhauer. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the minutes of the May 17, 1982, regular meeting of the Board were approved as submitted. OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the sale of the following city -owned properties: 218 S. Illinois 222 N. O'Brien 517 S. Rush 617 N. Eddy 1227 W. Colfax 1125 and 1129 S. 311 Stull (Bureau of Housing) Lafayette The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Mr. Ralph Shead City -Owned Property: 218 S. Illinois 1714 Eclipse City's Offering Price: $200.00 South Bend, Indiana Bid: $200.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the bid of Mr. Shead in the amount of $200.00 was accepted and the matter referred to the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate purchase agreement. Mr. J. Findley May City -Owned Property: 222 N. O'Brien 218 N. O'Brien City's Offering Price: $175.00 South Bend, Indiana Bid: $140.00 It was noted that Mr. May is an abutting property owner, and,. upon that basis, his bid of $140.00, although not equal to the city's offering price, was accepted on a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried. The matter was then referred to the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate purchase agreement. Ms.. Helen C.V. Mester City -Owned Property: 517 S. Rush 521 East South City's Offering Price: $165.00 South Bend, Indiana Bid: $165.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the bid of Ms. Mester in the amount of $165.00 was accepted and the matter referred to the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate purchase agreement. Eleanor A. Gordon City -Owned Property: 615 N. Eddy 607 N. Eddy City's Offering Price: $235.00 South Bend, Indiana Bid: $235.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the bid of Ms. Gordon in the amount of .$235.00 was accepted and the matter referred to the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate purchase agreement.
