<br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the following traffic control devices were approved:
<br />INSTALL 2 HR. PARKING 6 AM - 6 PM BLOOD DONORS - South
<br />side of the 200 block W. Navarre - west one-half block.
<br />(extension of blood donors zone in east'one-half block)
<br />REVISE TO 1 HOUR PARKING 531 N. Main St. (S.B. Medical Foundation)
<br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT PARADE - HOPE CHAPEL CHURCH OF GOD
<br />A letter was submitted to the Board from Pastor John A. Railton
<br />of the Hope Chapel Church of God for permission to hold an annual
<br />vacation bible school parade on Saturday, June 12, 1982, starting
<br />at 1:00 p.m., and utilizing streets in the neighborhood of the
<br />church bounded by Vernon, Marine, Indiana and Ewing. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
<br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting
<br />and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
<br />STATUS REPORT FILED - ABANDONED VEHICLE SALES
<br />The Board was informed that, during the period of January 1, 1982,
<br />through March 30, 1982, the city received $8,538.67 for the sale
<br />of abandoned vehicles, $2,934.00 of which was received from the
<br />vehicle owners for the towing and storage of the vehicles. The
<br />balance of $5,604.67 was received from the actual sale of the
<br />abandoned vehicles. It was noted that the towing and storage
<br />bill from Hurwich Iron Company for that same time period was
<br />$4,259.00. The Board commended Mrs. Katherine Barnard, Director
<br />of the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office, for her efforts in
<br />helping to make the abandoned vehicle program a self-sufficient
<br />one. Mr. Kernan stated that the Junk Vehicle Fund has been in the
<br />red since prior to 1980.. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the report was filed.
<br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS
<br />A list containing 22 lots ordered cleaned by the Director of the
<br />Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was submitted. It was noted
<br />that property owners had been advised to clean up the lots and
<br />had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the environmental list was filed.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the license application of Robert B. Weymon, Jr., P. 0.
<br />Box 2653, South Bend, Indiana, for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal
<br />license was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's
<br />Office for issuance. It was noted that a favorable inspection of
<br />the vehicle had been conducted by the Solid Waste Bureau.
<br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and
<br />carried, the following handicapped parking permits were approved
<br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance
