No. 565 through No. 588 and recom-
mended approval. Chief Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz sub-
mitted Claim Docket No. 3186 through No. 3697 and recommended
approval. Upon a motion made by '11r. Leszczynski, seconded by
Mr. Hill and carried, the reports were filed and the claims
and purchase orders were approved.
CITIZEN INQUIRY RE: ETHANOL PLANT SITE PREPARATION PROJECT
Mr. Leslie Doty, 3502 Lincolnway West, stated that the group he
represented felt construction of the Ethanol Plan would only help
to make a few people richer at the expense of the taxpayers. He
asked when the bid would be awarded for the de -mucking. Mr.
Hill explained that New Energy Corporation would likely close on
their loan guarantee around April 15th. He stated that, at this
point it was not known whether or not the city would even be
financing the de -mucking project. He felt Mr. Doty should
obtain all the facts before coming out in opposition to such a
project. Another gentleman in the audience asked if New Energy
Corporation would be reimbursing the city for the de -mucking
project. Mr. Hill stated that any increase in the assessed
valuation of taxes would be deferred to finance those improvements;
however, it was not known at this time whether or not that would
be the case.
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon a
motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried,
the meeting was adjourned at 9:55 a.m.
J hn E.
