220 REGULAR MEETING MARCH 1, 1982 WHEREAS, the Board of Public the necessary action to make in the future, to sell said pursuant to State Statutes. Works now wishes to take it possible for the Board, parcels of real estate NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That the parcels of real estate owned by the city contained in the following list are not necessary to the public use and are not set aside by state or city law for public purposes: Address Deed No. 263 Maple 1131 1115 S. Byers, Clerk Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above resolution was adopted. Under a new state law, the Clerk was instructed to legally advertise the above properties for sale to the highest bidder. APPROVE REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE TO RECEIVE BIDS ON VARIOUS EQUIPMENT Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of sealed bids for a Maintenance Grader, three Tandem Axle Cabs and Chassis, and two or more Single Axle Cabs and Chassis. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved, with sealed bids to be received by the_Board on March 22, 1982. Mr. Leszczynski requested permission to also cause legal advertis- ing for the receipt of sealed bids for various lawn mower equip- ment, Turf Runabouts, vans and a pick-up truck at an estimated cost of $97,000.00, funds being available as a result of the General Obligation Bond Issue. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was approved, with sealed bids to be received by the Board on March 22, 1982. REQUEST FOR ARMED FORCES DAY PARADE - MAY 15, 1982 A request was received from Lieutenant W. C. Stafford,of the Department of the Navy, Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center, for permission to conduct an Armed Forces Day parade on May 15, 1982, starting at 9:00 a.m., at the rear of the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 1901 S. Kemble Avenue. The proposed route utilized Donald Street west to Walnut, Walnut south to Ewing, Ewing east to Douglas and Douglas north back to the center. Upon a motion made by Mr..Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. 1
