220 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 1, 1982 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public <br />the necessary action to make <br />in the future, to sell said <br />pursuant to State Statutes. <br />Works now wishes to take <br />it possible for the Board, <br />parcels of real estate <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />That the parcels of real estate owned by the <br />city contained in the following list are <br />not necessary to the public use and are not <br />set aside by state or city law for public <br />purposes: <br />Address Deed No. <br />263 Maple 1131 <br />1115 S. Lafayette 406 <br />Adopted this 1st day of March, 1982. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Leszczynski <br />s/ Richard L. Hill <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Barbara J. Byers, Clerk <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above resolution was adopted. Under a new state <br />law, the Clerk was instructed to legally advertise the above <br />properties for sale to the highest bidder. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE TO RECEIVE BIDS ON VARIOUS EQUIPMENT <br />Mr. Sean Watt, Director of the Division of Transportation, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of sealed bids for a <br />Maintenance Grader, three Tandem Axle Cabs and Chassis, and two <br />or more Single Axle Cabs and Chassis. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />approved, with sealed bids to be received by the_Board on March <br />22, 1982. <br />Mr. Leszczynski requested permission to also cause legal advertis- <br />ing for the receipt of sealed bids for various lawn mower equip- <br />ment, Turf Runabouts, vans and a pick-up truck at an estimated <br />cost of $97,000.00, funds being available as a result of the <br />General Obligation Bond Issue. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request was <br />approved, with sealed bids to be received by the Board on March <br />22, 1982. <br />REQUEST FOR ARMED FORCES DAY PARADE - MAY 15, 1982 <br />A request was received from Lieutenant W. C. Stafford,of the <br />Department of the Navy, Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center, <br />for permission to conduct an Armed Forces Day parade on May 15, <br />1982, starting at 9:00 a.m., at the rear of the Armed Forces <br />Reserve Center, 1901 S. Kemble Avenue. The proposed route <br />utilized Donald Street west to Walnut, Walnut south to Ewing, <br />Ewing east to Douglas and Douglas north back to the center. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr..Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />1 <br />
