SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 10, 1982 been ordered towed to the Hurwich Iron impoundment lot. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored for the required period of time, identification checks have been run for auto theft, and the owners and lien holders have been notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by.Mr. Hill and carried, the request to advertise for bids was approved, with sealed bids to be received on February 22, 1982. APPROVE SUPERWALK FOR MARCH OF DIMES Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, recommended the Board approve the March of Dimes 12th Annual Superwalk to be held on April 24, 1982, starting and ending in Potowatomi Park. Mr. Wadzinski recommended that all participants obey pedestrian traffic and safety laws and utilize the sidewalks when possible. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE MICHIANA LUNG RUN In response to the request of the American Lung Association to hold its annual Michiana Lung Run on June 5, 1982, the Bureau (� of Traffic and Lighting recommended the following: 1. Because of the impending closure of Colfax Bridge for repairs, the start and finish of the race must be relocated to another point in the downtown area or Pinhook Park rather than utilizing Jefferson Boulevard Bridge. To make up for the distance lost using Jefferson Boulevard/Howard Park, portions of Riverside Drive and Boland Drive north of Pinhook Park will be used. 2. No runners will be permitted to utilize St. Joseph Street but will be able to use old Michigan Street and the River Bend Plaza area. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above recommendations were approved, and the Michiana Lung Run Committee was requested to submit a final route to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting within 30 days in accordance with the recommendations just approved. APPROVE ROAD RACE FOR ST. ADALBERT'S CHURCH A favorable recommendation was submitted to the Board by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the annual road race for St. Adalbert's Church to be held on Sunday, July 18, 1982, starting at 6:00 p.m., in accordance with the route requested. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the recommendation was approved. ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 5, 1982, AUTHORIZING ADVERTISING FOR BIDS ON LEASE OF BROWNFIELD PARK RESOLUTION NO. 5, 1982 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works, at its meeting on August 24, 1981, adopted Resolution No. 17, 1981, determ- ining that a parcel of city -owned real estate located at the northwest corner of Angela Boulevard and Riverside Drive, more commonly known as a portion of Brownfield Park, was not necessary to the public use, nor was it set aside by state or city law for public purposes; and WHEREAS, on August 31,1981, the Common Council approved and ratified the action of the Board of Public Works, arrangements were completed for an appraisal of the property, and a bid date was established for the receipt of sealed bids for its purchase.
