ACCEPT PROPOSAL FOR PURCHASE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (424 EAST SOUTH STREET) Mr. Leszczynski informed the Board that, on December 21, 1981, a bid in the amount of $500.00 had been received from Mr. Greg Burnside, 50912 U.S. 31 North, for the purchase of a city -owned lot located at 424 East South Street. It was noted that the city's offering price was $661.00 as appraised. According to the state statutes, since no bids had been received in the amount of the appraisal price, the sole abutting property owner, being Mr. Edward J. Mirtes, 418 East South Street, was notified of the city's interest in selling the lot and,was advised to submit a proposal for the property if interested. The Clerk advised that Mr. Mirtes had not submitted a proposal within a 10-day period. In view of the fact that no abutting property owner had submitted a proposal for the property, upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the bid of Mr. Burnside (received on December 21, 1981) in the amount of $500.00 was accepted, and the matter referred to the Legal Department for the drafting of the necessary purchase agreement for Board execution. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, submitted the following traffic control devices and recommended approval: REMOVE BUS ZONE SIGN AND NO PARKING PASSENGER LOADING ZONE - 900 W. Dubail. REVISE TO 2 HOUR PARKING 6 AM - 6 PM - 3603-3612 Mishawaka Avenue. REMOVE NO PARKING PASSENGER LOADING ZONE - 1600 S. Kemble Street. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above traffic control devices were approved. APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS Mr. Kernan advised that, in accordance with the newly enacted ordinance passed by the Common Council, certain license applica- tions would be submitted to the Board of Works for approval. The following applications were submitted: Secondhand Dealer: Frank Anastasio 1906 Miami Street Joan W. Beatty d/b/a Benner's White Elephant Shop 2216 Mishawaka Ave. It was noted that favorable recommendations for the above license applications had been received from the Police Department. Like- wise, zoning for the businesses was in accordance with the city's zoning laws and adequate off-street parking was available. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above license applications were approved, subject to the recommendations of the Fire Department.
