152 <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 1-4, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, December 14, 1981, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney <br />James A. Masters. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes of the December 7, 1981, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, status reports on the Prenco facility and the city's <br />excess levy appeal were added to the agenda following the <br />designation of a disposing agent for city -owned property. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - PICK-UP TRUCK FOR STREET DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving sealed bids for the purchase <br />of a 1982 pick-up truck for the Street Department. The Clerk <br />tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Town & Country Gates Bid was signed by W. P. Hendershot, <br />666 W. McKinley non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />Mishawaka, Ind. 46544 and a 10% certified check was submitted. <br />One 1982 Chevrolet Pick-up Truck $7,190.33 <br />Less Trade-in-500.00 .$6,690.33 <br />Basney Ford Bid was signed by James A.-Basney, <br />320 E. Ireland Road non -collusion affidavit was in <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 order, and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />One 1982 Ford F100 Pick-up Truck $6,684.18 <br />(trade-in included) <br />Gurley-Leep Buick Bid was signed by Thomas E. Gordon, <br />225 S. Lafayette non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />South Bend, Ind. 46634 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />One 1982 Dodge D150 Pick-up Truck $6,850.00 <br />McCormick Motors, Inc. Bid was signed by Bernard B. Beer, <br />Nappanee, Ind. 46550 non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />One 1982 Chevrolet Pick-up Truck $7,250.00 <br />Less trade-in-400.00 $6,850.00 <br />Gates Chevrolet Corp. Bid was signed by William C. Gates, <br />333 W. Western Ave. non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />South Bend, Ind. 46634 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />One 1982 Chevrolet S-10 Pick-up Truck$7,290.30 <br />Less trade-in 350.00 $6,940.30 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the Street Department <br />for review and recommendation. <br />
