138 <br />REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 23, 1981 <br />Neighborhood Code Enforcement - Assist Neighborhood <br />Housing service in establishment code enforcement <br />and safety inspection program ($20,000.00) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above contracts were approved. <br />ACTION, Inc. - Material costs and rehabilitation of <br />two portable classrooms leased by the School <br />Corporation at the LaSalle-Fillmore Neighborhood <br />Center ($10,000.00) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by fir. Hill and <br />carried, the above contract was approved. <br />Renew, Inc. - Administer rehabilitation and home acquisition <br />programs within Community Development areas ($20,000.00) <br />Renew, Inc. - Purchase and rehabilitation of housing units <br />($15,000.00) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above contracts were approved. <br />Economic Development and Redevelopment - Cost of appraisals, <br />surveys and title work to be done for future development <br />of Studebaker Industrial Corridor ($25,000.00) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the above contract was approved. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the following addendums to contracts previously approved by the <br />Board were approved: <br />Addendum II - Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office <br />(neighborhood clean-up: $33,803.00) <br />Addendum III - Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office <br />(salary of inspection: $5,746.00) <br />Addendum II - Bureau of Housing ($40,666.00) <br />Addendum I - Redevelopment Department ($159,800.00) <br />Mrs. Collenn Rosenfeld, Director of the Community Development <br />Department, explained that the addendums were necessitated in <br />order to continue existing operations to the end of this year as <br />part of the plan to annualize the Community Development budget. <br />Mr. Kernan noted that the above amounts were not actual increases <br />in program budgets, but were a re -programming and shift from <br />approved budget figures. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT WITH NEW HOPE HOUSING <br />Mrs. Eugenia Schwartz, Assistant City Attorney,'explained that a <br />contract was being submitted between T. Brooks Brademas and <br />several city agencies for the rehabilitation of 15 properties <br />with private financing utilizing Section 312 loans and mortgages <br />from the Bureau of Housing, and special funds through Community <br />Development. She stated that the combination of financing from <br />these sources has been approved by the Department of Housing and <br />Urban Development. The Common Council had previously approved <br />the hiring of Mr. Brademas as the general contractor for the <br />rehabilitation of the properties, and the Redevelopment Commission <br />had approved the concept of the Section 312 loans and would take <br />official action within the next few days. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the contract <br />was approved. <br />0 <br />
