,M <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 2, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the .Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, November 2, 1981, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney <br />Carolyn Pfotenhauer. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the minutes of the regular meeting of October 26, 1981, <br />were approved as submitted. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - LEASE OF PHOTOSTATIC COPIER/DUPLICATOR (POLICE DEPT.) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for <br />the lease of a photostatic copier/duplicator for the Police <br />Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly <br />read: <br />Xerox Corporation Bid was signed by Anup Mody, non- <br />1657 N. Commerce Dr. collusion affidavit was in order, <br />South Bend, Ind. 46628 and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Xerox 560OF Copier System - List Price: $32,755.00 <br />Five -Year Installment Purchase: <br />60 Monthly payments of $736.88 <br />Maintenance (monthly charge): $220.00 <br />Finisher (monthly charge): $11.15 <br />Placement charge: $130.00 <br />Two -Year Rental Extended Term: <br />Monthly minimum: $765.00 <br />Finisher (monthly charge): $43.25 <br />Placement charge: $130.00 <br />Service included in rental. <br />Annual Rental Contract: <br />Monthly minimum: $800.00 <br />Finisher (monthly charge): $43.25 <br />Placement charge: $130.00 <br />Service included in rental. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bid was referred to the Police Department and <br />the Controller's Office for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF WASTE OIL BURNER AND APPURTENANCES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for <br />the sale of a waste oil burner, scrubber, tanks and miscellaneous <br />appurtenances, being surplus equipment located on the grounds of <br />the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 3110 Riverside Drive. The clerk <br />tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune <br />and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Mr. <br />Leszczynski noted that no bids had been received for the sale <br />of the equipment. He stated that, on October 19, 1981, the Board <br />had advertised to receive bids for the first time, and no bids <br />were received. He recommended that the Board adopt a resolution <br />declaring the equipment to be surplus and no longer needed by <br />the city and authorizing the Engineering Department to dispose <br />of said equipment, as follows: <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 22, 1981 (DISPOSE OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 22. 1981 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following equipment located on the <br />grounds of the South Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant, <br />
