REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 28, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:40 a.m., on Monday, September 28, 1981, by Joseph E. Kernan, <br />acting in the absence of Board President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Kernan and Mr. Richard L. Hill present. Also present <br />was Deputy City Attorney James A. Masters. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, <br />the minutes of the September 21, <br />were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />1981, regular meeting of the Board <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the following items were added to the agenda: <br />1. An additional request for a revenue sharing intended <br />use hearing in the amount of $35,000.00 for repair <br />of Island Park; and <br />�. 2. Discussion on establishment of Trick or Treat date <br />for Halloween. <br />�= OPENING OF BIDS - STREET DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT <br />V This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for <br />various Street Department equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs <br />of publication of notice in -the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Van-Kal Truck Equip. & Service Bid was signed by Robert J. Peters, <br />10700 Red Arrow Highway non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Mattawan, Michigan 49071 order and a check drawn on Van- <br />Kal Truck Equipment in the amount <br />of $3,548.00 was submitted. <br />Remount 3 F-5 and 2 F-55 Model Root Blade <br />Assemblies ................................. $ 6,955.00 <br />Remount Hustin Quick Hitches ............... 2,475.00 <br />Supply and mount 5 Crankshaft Hydraulic <br />Systems.. ....... ........................ 8,000.00 <br />Supply and mount 3 10' x 7' Dump Bodies <br />and Hoists.. 9,450.00 <br />Supply and mount 2 14' x 7' Dump Bodies <br />and Hoists ................................. 8,600.00 <br />Total Bid $35,480.00 <br />Mr. Kernan noted that the bid specifications require out-of-state <br />bidders to submit a certified check as bid security. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Van-Kal Truck <br />Equipment was given a 48-hour period in which to submit the proper <br />bid security in order that its bid be considered. <br />ATNI Truck Equipment Bid was signed by Kenneth E. Downey, <br />25629 State Road 2 non -collusion affidavit was in order, <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 and a certified check in the amount <br />of $4,024.00 was submitted. <br />Remount 3 F-5 and 2 F-55 Model Root Blade <br />Assemblies ................................. $ 6,931.21 <br />Remount Hustin Quick Hitches ............... 1,280.00 <br />Supply and mount 5 Crankshaft Hydraulic <br />Systems and supply and mount 3 10' x 7' <br />Dump Bodies and Hoists and 2 14' x 7' Dump <br />Bodies and Hoists .......................... 26,816.00 <br />Total Bid $35,027.21 <br />
