REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 28, 1981 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:40 a.m., on Monday, September 28, 1981, by Joseph E. Kernan, acting in the absence of Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Kernan and Mr. Richard L. Hill present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney James A. Masters. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, the minutes of the September 21, were approved as submitted. AGENDA ITEMS ADDED seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, 1981, regular meeting of the Board Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the following items were added to the agenda: 1. An additional request for a revenue sharing intended use hearing in the amount of $35,000.00 for repair of Island Park; and �. 2. Discussion on establishment of Trick or Treat date for Halloween. �= OPENING OF BIDS - STREET DEPARTMENT EQUIPMENT V This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for various Street Department equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in -the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Van-Kal Truck Equip. & Service Bid was signed by Robert J. Peters, 10700 Red Arrow Highway non -collusion affidavit was in Mattawan, Michigan 49071 order and a check drawn on Van- Kal Truck Equipment in the amount of $3,548.00 was submitted. Remount 3 F-5 and 2 F-55 Model Root Blade Assemblies ................................. $ 6,955.00 Remount Hustin Quick Hitches ............... 2,475.00 Supply and mount 5 Crankshaft Hydraulic Systems.. ....... ........................ 8,000.00 Supply and mount 3 10' x 7' Dump Bodies and Hoists.. 9,450.00 Supply and mount 2 14' x 7' Dump Bodies and Hoists ................................. 8,600.00 Total Bid $35,480.00 Mr. Kernan noted that the bid specifications require out-of-state bidders to submit a certified check as bid security. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, Van-Kal Truck Equipment was given a 48-hour period in which to submit the proper bid security in order that its bid be considered. ATNI Truck Equipment Bid was signed by Kenneth E. Downey, 25629 State Road 2 non -collusion affidavit was in order, South Bend, Indiana 46619 and a certified check in the amount of $4,024.00 was submitted.
