91 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 1'7, 1981 <br />Mr. Leszczynski also submitted Change Order No. 2 for Slutsky--Feltz <br />Plumbing and Heating in connection with work on the First Bank <br />Center Project in the amount of an increase of $33,629.00, thereby <br />bringing the contract total to $159,092.00. He stated that the <br />change order was necessitated in order to provide and install fans <br />and controls in lieu of wall fans, and that the Construction <br />Manager had reviewed the change order and was recommending approval. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above change order was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT TROPICAL PLANT RENTALS (FIRST BANK CENTER) <br />A contract with Tropical Plant Rentals in the amount of $44,103.00 <br />for interior landscaping on the First Bank Center Project was <br />submitted, in accordance with the low bid received on July 20,1981. <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the required insurance for Tropical Plant <br />Rentals had been filed and a Surety Bond was submitted with the <br />contract. Deputy Attorney Terry Crone advised that the Surety Bond <br />did not contain a signature of an authorized representative of the <br />firm, even though the bonding company had signed same. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />contract was approved and the bond accepted and filed, subject to <br />(� obtaining the necessary signature on the bond from an authorized <br />representative of the firm. <br />Q APPROVE SALE OF BICYCLES AND OTHER UNCLAIMED PROPERTY <br />Police Chief Dan Thompson submitted a request to hold an auction on <br />October 17, 1981, from 9:00 a.m, to 1:00 p.m., at the Police Station <br />in order to dispose of unclaimed bicycles and other property recovered <br />by the police and held for more than six months. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was aproved and the Clerk instructed to cause legal advertising for <br />said auction. <br />FILING OF REPORTS AND ADOPTION OF VACATION RESOLUTION NO. <br />3513, 1981 (AAA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION) <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3513, 1981 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />The lst East-West alley South of Ardmore Trail, <br />running Northeasterly from Bendix to the inter- <br />section of the West right-of-way line of the <br />lst North -South. alley extended North, being <br />in Westchester lst Addition to the City of <br />South Bend (approximate distance of alley <br />to be vacated is 122 feet). <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain <br />any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control <br />structures and ditches within the vacated right of way, unless <br />such rights are released by the individual Utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially <br />affected by such vacation: <br />Lots 38, 39, 40 & 41, Westchester <br />lst Addition to City of South Bend. <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 21st & <br />28th day of August, 1981, in the South Bend Tribune and in the <br />Tri-County News. <br />
