Main from Navarre, northerly approximately 300 feet <br />APPROVAL OF INTERSECTION FUND SOLICITATIONS (AMERICAN CANCER <br />SOCIETY AND MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION) <br />Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Light- <br />ing, recommended approval of the intersection fund solicitation of <br />the American Cancer Society on August 15, 1981, in accordance with <br />the previously -approved guidelines pertaining to such solicitations, <br />at the following interesections: <br />South Bend Avenue at Eddy Street <br />Eddy Street at Jefferson Boulevard <br />Northvide Boulevard at Sample Street <br />Ireland and Miami <br />Bendix Drive at Lincolnway WEst <br />Main Street at Jefferson <br />U. S. 33 South at Chippewa <br />Miami at Ewing <br />Mr. Wadzinski further recommended that the intersections of Lincolnway <br />East and Ironwood, and Calvert and Ironwood, not be used since they <br />are major detour routes for the Twyckenham Bridge closure. <br />A favorable recommendation was also received from Mr. Wadzinski for <br />approval of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and National <br />Association of Letter Carriers, to solicit funds on Sunday, August <br />9, 1981, from noon to 4:00 p.m., at the following locations: <br />Miami and Ireland <br />Edison and Ironwood (alternate) <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above requests for intersection fund solicitations were <br />approved as recommended by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />subject to compliance with previously -established guidelines which <br />included the filing of a hold harmless agreement. <br />APPROVAL OF STREET LIGHT RE -INSTALLATIONS (EAST WASHINGTON <br />STREET AND MICHIGAN STREET) <br />In a memo to the Board, Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, recommended the reinstallation of street <br />lights in the 100 blocks of East Washington Street and North Michigan <br />Street in conjunction with the completion of the First Bank/Marriott <br />Hotel Project. Mr. Wadzinski advised that the lights were temporarily <br />removed for the construction. Mr. Leszczynski noted that three <br />50,000 HPS fixtures would be reinstalled in the 100 block of East <br />Washington on the north side of the street. In the 100 block of <br />North Michigan, four flourescent lights on the east side of the <br />street were recommended, and the previous eight flourescent fixtures <br />in this area changed to 50,000 HPS. Also, it was recommended that <br />the seven flourescent lights in the 100 block of South Michigan <br />Street be changed to 50,000 HPS. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the <br />street light moritorium still remained in effect; however, these <br />lights had been temporarily removed for construction purposes with <br />every intent of having them reinstalled at a future date. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, <br />the above street light reinstallations and changes were approved. <br />1 <br />
