29 <br />REGULARMEETINGAUGUST 3, 1981 <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION <br />NO. 3510, 1981 (LOUIE'S TUX SHOP) <br />John E. Leszczynski, City Engineer, filed an Assessment Roll with <br />respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3510, 1981, for the vacation of <br />the first alley south of Lincolnway West, running westerly from <br />Chapin Street (Inner Belt), to a line that is produced by extending <br />the west property line of Lot 8 in Kunstman's Addition north to <br />the southwest corner of Lot 5 in.said Subdivision, for a distance <br />of 270 feet more or less,'all being in Kunstman's Addition to the <br />City of South Bend. The following property may be injuriously or <br />beneficially affected by such vacation: <br />Lots 1 through 11 in Kunstman's lst Addition, <br />and Lots 4 and 5 in Heintzman's Addition. <br />The Assessment Roll lists $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits <br />to the abutting properties. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr: Leszczynski and carried, the Assessment Roll was <br />filed and set for public hearing on August 31, 1981. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (208 CHAPIN) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Michael Jurek had signed and submitted <br />a Purchase Agreement for city -owned property located at 208 Chapin <br />Street. Mr. Leszczynski stated that, on July 13, 1981, the Board <br />had awarded the purchase of the property to Mr. Jurek in the <br />amount of $1,661.00 in accordance with the bid he had submitted. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the agreement was approved and the matter referred to <br />the Legal Department for drafting of the appropriate Quit -Claim <br />Deed. <br />APPROVE ADVERTISING FOR SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY (1919 S. CATALPA) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the vacant Bureau of Housing property <br />located at 1919 South Catalpa had been cleared and approved for <br />sale. On June 19, 1981, the Board had approved a resolution for <br />the sale of the lot and the Council had concurred on July 13, 1981. <br />An offering price had been established at a figure of $462.00 <br />following an appraisal of the property. Mr. Leszczynski explained <br />that, since more than one person had expressed an interest in the <br />property, the city was legally required to advertise the property <br />for sale by bid to the highest bidder. Upon a -motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by.Mr. Hill and carried, the Board approved <br />legal advertising for the sale of the lot, with sealed bids to be <br />received on August 31,-1981. <br />APPROVE STREET DEDICATIONS (AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that, under the original phase of the <br />Airport Industrial Park construction, Kenmore Street had been <br />extended from Progress Drive north; however, the extension had not <br />ever been officially dedicated. He explained that a cul-de-sac <br />was also being dedicated, which would be known as Foundation Court, <br />which would provide for a turn -around in Phase III at the Industrial <br />Park. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above street dedications were approved and the <br />title sheets signed. <br />APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following traffic control devices were approved as <br />recommended by Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting: <br />
