i
L
[1
REGULAR MEETING
JULY 13, 1981
Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the
17th & 24th days of July, 1981, in the South Bend Tribune
and in the Tri-County News.
This Board, at its office, on the 3rd day of August,
1981, at 9:30 o'clock, A.M., will hear and receive remon-
strances from all persons interested in or affected by
these proceedings.
Adopted this 13th day of July, 1981.
BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
s/ John E. Leszczynski
s/ Richard L. Hill
s / Joseph E. Kernan
ATTEST:
s/ Barbara J. Byers, Clerk
The reports of the Area Plan Commission, Community Development
Department and the Engineering Department indicated that there was
no objection to the proposed vacation. It was noted that,
although there was no record of the alley being a dedicated or
recorded public alley, the alley was being vacated through the
Board of Public Works in order to clear up any clouds on the title
for the property. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
by Mr. Hill and carried, the reports were filed and Vacation
Resolution No. 3511, 1981, was adopted and set for public hearing
on August 3, 1981.
FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY IN LINCOLN MANOR ADDITION
A petition signed by property owners was submitted for the vacation
of a portion of the east -west alley and the north -south alley in
the block bounded by Ardmore Trail, Bendix Drive, Goodland Avenue,
and Green Street in Lincoln Manor Addition. It was noted that the
re -location of the north -south alley would be made in order to
allow the AAA Federal Credit Union to facilitate access to its
new multi drive-in window banking system. Upon a motion made by
Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the petition
was referred to the Engineering Department, Community Development
Department and the Area Plan Commission for preliminary review
and recommendation.
APPROVAL OF RELEASE OF CITY'S LIENS AGAINST PROPERTY BEING
CONVEYED TO REDEVELOPMENT FOR MONROE-SAMPLE STREET PROJECT
Mr. Hill advised that the Department of Redevelopment was in the
process of acquiring various parcels of land from the city for
the development of the Monroe-Sampoe Street Project, three
properties of which had city liens on them:
Address Lien
709 Marietta $1, 00 00
721 Clinton 775.00
410-412 E. Bronson 1,065.00
Redevelopment's Offering Price
605.00
640.00
295.00
He explained that, in all cases, the city lien was subordinate to
all other liens and, in order to facilitate the acquisition process,
he recommended release of the city liens. Upon a motion made by Mr.
Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Board approved
the release of the city's liens as indicated above.
