I 11� REGULAR MEETING JULY 13, 1981 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, July 13, 1981, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney Terry A Crone. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the minutes of the June 29, 1981, regular meeting of the Board were approved as submitted. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request to re -advertise to receive bids for Street Department and Traffic and Lighting vehicles was added to the agenda immediately following the public hearing on the Barrett Law petition for paving an alley in Harter Heights 2nd Addition. OPENING.OF BIDS - INTERIOR LANDSCAPING (FIRST BANK CENTER) This was the date set for receiving and opening,sealed bids for the interior landscaping of the public portion of First Bank Center. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Robert Foegley Landscape Bid was signed by Robert 0. Foegley, Design & Contracting, Inc. non -collusion affidavit was in 52215 North Lilac Road order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. South Bend, Indiana $49,400.00 To include Ivy, which had been deleted by Murphy Architects on July 9, 1981, add $865.00. Exterior Designing, Inc. Bid was signed by David L. Burroff, Spring Lake Farm non -collusion affidavit was in Hoagland, Indiana order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. $49,450.00 Alternate: Add $1,000.00 each for 24 special design planters. Tropical Plant Rentals Bid was signed by Gerard F. Leider, P. 0. Box 146 non -collusion affidavit was in order Aptakisic Road and a certified check in the amount Prairie View, Illinois of $2,205.15 was submitted. $44,103.00 Alternates: Substitute ground cover for bark mulch, add $1,117.00 Substitute custom planter/bench, add $40,193.00 Mr. David Jahn, representing Sollitt Construction Company, explained that the plants and foliage to be installed would include live trees approximately 14 to 16 feet high, and the planters would be fiberglass. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the bids were referred to Mr. Patrick M. McMahon and Sollitt Construction Company for review and recommendation.
