I <br />11� <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 13, 1981 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m., on Monday, July 13, 1981, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. <br />Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney <br />Terry A Crone. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the minutes of the June 29, 1981, regular meeting of the Board were <br />approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request to re -advertise to receive bids for Street Department <br />and Traffic and Lighting vehicles was added to the agenda immediately <br />following the public hearing on the Barrett Law petition for paving <br />an alley in Harter Heights 2nd Addition. <br />OPENING.OF BIDS - INTERIOR LANDSCAPING (FIRST BANK CENTER) <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening,sealed bids for the <br />interior landscaping of the public portion of First Bank Center. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Robert Foegley Landscape Bid was signed by Robert 0. Foegley, <br />Design & Contracting, Inc. non -collusion affidavit was in <br />52215 North Lilac Road order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />$49,400.00 <br />To include Ivy, which had been deleted by Murphy Architects <br />on July 9, 1981, add $865.00. <br />Exterior Designing, Inc. Bid was signed by David L. Burroff, <br />Spring Lake Farm non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Hoagland, Indiana order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. <br />$49,450.00 <br />Alternate: Add $1,000.00 each for 24 special design planters. <br />Tropical Plant Rentals Bid was signed by Gerard F. Leider, <br />P. 0. Box 146 non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />Aptakisic Road and a certified check in the amount <br />Prairie View, Illinois of $2,205.15 was submitted. <br />$44,103.00 <br />Alternates: Substitute ground cover for bark mulch, add <br />$1,117.00 <br />Substitute custom planter/bench, add $40,193.00 <br />Mr. David Jahn, representing Sollitt Construction Company, explained <br />that the plants and foliage to be installed would include live trees <br />approximately 14 to 16 feet high, and the planters would be fiberglass. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the bids were referred to Mr. Patrick M. McMahon and <br />Sollitt Construction Company for review and recommendation. <br />
