3 99 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 1983 <br />City Attorney Richard L. Hill advised Mr. Campbell that if <br />he wants to do business at.the airport he must comply with <br />the taxi cab ordinance. If he wants to be an executive <br />service he must be just that. Mr. Campbell must decide <br />how he wants to handle his business. Mr. Campbell indicated <br />that he.has a telephone call box at the airport and receives <br />calls that way. He stated that on days when he is not <br />chartered he would like the option of standing by at the <br />airport. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the Certificates of Public Convenience and <br />Necessity were granted to United Limo, Inc. and Airport <br />Limousine Service and the matter of the application for <br />Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for National <br />Limousine Service, Inc. was taken under advisement and <br />continued until the next regular meeting of the Board of <br />Public Works. . <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - <br />IRELAND/IRONWOOD DETENTION BASIN <br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board three (3) copies of <br />an Agreement with Lawson -Fisher Associates, 525 West <br />Washington Street, South Bend, Indiana, for professional <br />services regarding the Ireland/Ironwood Detension Basin. <br />It is the City's intention to improve the existing storm <br />water detention basin located northwest of the junction of <br />Ireland and Ironwood Roads to increase the storage capacity <br />of the basin, and to improve the outlet control structures, <br />and to consider dual use as a recreational area. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above Agreement was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF CITY CONSULTANT AGREEMENT - IRELAND <br />ROAD SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to the Board two (2) copies of <br />an Agreement with Clyde E. Williams & Associates, Inc., <br />Consulting Engineers for engineering services for the <br />above referred to project and for the professional <br />services required in the preparation of the plans and <br />the appropriate environmental studies and reports for <br />said project. Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded <br />by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above Agreement was <br />approved and executed. <br />AWARD BID AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - <br />INLET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, <br />Bureau of Public Construction, recommended the Board accept <br />the bid of Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc., 3535 Monroe Street,. <br />LaPorte, Indiana, in the amount of $59,750.00. Mr. <br />Leszczynski advised that bids for .this project were opened <br />on October 11, 1983. Mr. Leszczynski further advised that <br />in accordance with the award of this bid, a contract in <br />said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above bid was awarded and the contract <br />approved. Accordingly, the appropriate insurance, <br />Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond <br />submitted by Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc. were filed. <br />
