REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 6, 1983
<br />APPROVE QUIT -CLAIM DEED.- GRAND TRUNK
<br />WESTERN RAILROAD COMPANY.
<br />Mr. Leszczynski presented to -the Board a Quit -Claim Deed
<br />from the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Company, a Michigan
<br />and Indiana Corporation, whose address is 131 West
<br />Lafayette Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan, to the City of
<br />South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski advised that.this deed conveys
<br />a triangular portion of property next to the ethanol pro-
<br />duction facility that is needed for the construction of.a
<br />retention basin. He stated that the parcel contains 19.6
<br />acres of property. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski,
<br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Deed was
<br />accepted and approved.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY -
<br />ASHLAND AVENUE (SEPTEMBER 11, 1983)
<br />Mr. George Ladewski, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has
<br />reviewed the block party request from Ms. Peg Luecke
<br />submitted to the Board on August 29, 1983 and recommends
<br />approval.. Approval is subject to the maintenance of a
<br />ten foot (10') clear and unobstructed lane for emergency
<br />purposes. It was noted that the petitioner is responsible
<br />for the closing and opening of the street and alleys with
<br />barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and
<br />Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved.
<br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill
<br />and carried, the following seven (7) handicapped parking
<br />permits were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's
<br />office for issuance:

<br />Minnie Hatcher,. 1046 N. Huey, S.B.
<br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BONDS
<br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., Engineering Department, recom-
<br />mended the Excavation Bonds of Robert L. Geans d/b/a Robert
<br />L. Geans Concrete Contractor, effective September 6, 1983
<br />and Rudy Hammon, effective retroactive to August 25, 1983
<br />be approved. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded
<br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above Excavation Bonds were
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND
<br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., Engineering Department, recom-
<br />mended the Contractor's Bond of
<br />Williams be approved effective

<br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR'S
<br />BOND
<br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., Engineering Department, recom-
<br />mended the Contractor's Bond for William Dobslaw be released
<br />effective September 6, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above
<br />Contractor's Bond was released.
