35.4 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 6, 1983 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 9:35 a.m, on Monday, September 6, 1983, by President John <br />E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and <br />Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City <br />Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the Title Sheet for the Repairs and Remodeling for <br />House/Police Substation at 420 North Frances Street was added <br />to the agenda. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the minutes of the August 29, 1983, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SAND AND SLAG SAND- STREET DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the above referred to items. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The following <br />bid was opened and publicly read: <br />THE LEVY COMPANY, INC. Bid was signed by R.D. Marrese, <br />P.O. Box 540 Vice -President Sales/Mktg., Non - <br />Portage, Indiana 46368 Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% Bid Bond was submitted. <br />Up to 10,000 tons Calcium Chloride Slag Sand Mixture $11.60/ton <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bid was referred to Mr. Sean Watt, Director, <br />Division of Transportation, for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids <br />for the sale of approximately twelve (12) abandoned vehicles, <br />ten (10) of which were valued at over -One Hundred Dollars <br />($100.00) and all of which have been stored at the Hurwich <br />Impoundment Lot, 1610 Circle Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the <br />South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to <br />be sufficient.
