335 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 15. 1983 <br />The regular meeting of,the Board of Public Works was <br />convened at 9:35 a.m., on Monday, August 15, 1983, by <br />President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. <br />Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also <br />present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn-V. Pfotenhauer. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes ofthe August 8, 1983, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS.- SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed. <br />bids for the sale of approximately thirteen (13) abandoned <br />vehicles, eleven (11) of which were valued at over One <br />Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and all of which have been <br />stored at the Hurwich Impoundment Lot, 1610 Circle Avenue. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in'the <br />South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The Board was advised by the Department <br />of Code Enforcement that vehicles number two and number <br />seven were to be deleted from the list of vehicles being <br />offered for sale. Following that review, upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the following <br />bids were awarded: <br />Steve.& Gene's - Vehicle No. 1 $17.75 <br />3 22.75 <br />4 26.75 <br />5 11.75 <br />6 17.75 <br />8 22.75 <br />9 22.75 <br />10 15.75 <br />11 15.75 <br />Al Kowalski - Vehicle No. 12 $ 35.00 <br />13 163.00 <br />AWARD BID - DE-ICING MATERIALS FOR STREET DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division <br />of Transportation, recommended that the bids of Domtar <br />Industries, Inc. 4825 North Scott Street, Schiller Park, <br />Illinois for rock salt at twenty-one dollars and thirty-six <br />
