332 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 8, 1983 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - 1100 BLOCK <br />OF NORTH DUEY STREET (AUGUST 13 and 14, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of.Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Mr. Charles Howell, Sponsor, Ada McCraven's Super Kids Park, <br />presented to the Board on August 1, 1983, and recommends <br />approval. The original request was to conduct a block party <br />on August 12, 13 and 14, 1983. However, the request has <br />been revised and the block party is to be held on August <br />13 and 14, 1983, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. -Approval <br />is recommended subject to the maintenance of a clear and <br />unobstructed ten foot lane for emergency purposes. The <br />petitioner is responsible for the opening and closing of <br />the street with barricadestobe provided by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request as <br />amended was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - 1300 & 1400 <br />BLOCKS OF SUNNYMEDE (SEPTEMBER 11, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Ms. Tami McNally, presented to the Board on August 1, 1983, <br />and recommends approval subject to the maintenance.of a <br />clear and unobstructed ten foot lane for emergency purposes. <br />The petitioner is responsible for the opening and closing <br />of the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded.by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO HAVE ALLEY CLOSED FOR CHURCH <br />COOKOUTS (AUGUST 6, 13, 20, 27, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />the Sweet Home Church to block the alley next to the church <br />for cookouts to be held on the above referred to dates and <br />recommends approval. Mr.. Wadzinski recommends the closure <br />of the east/west alley from Taylor to the north/south alley <br />east of Taylor Street. The petitioner is responsible for <br />the opening and closing of the alley with barricades to be <br />provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR SECOND EXTENSION OF TENT REVIVAL <br />MIRACLE REVIVAL DELIVERANCE CENTER CHURCH <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board_on June 27, 1983 <br />approved the request of the Miracle Revival Deliverance <br />Center Church to erect a tent and conduct revival services. <br />A one week extension for tent revival services was approved <br />by the Board on August 1, 1983. In a letter to the Board, <br />Rev. Lord M. Hunt is again requesting permission to extend <br />the revival services until the end of August Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, <br />the extension was approved subject to the filing of a <br />$1,000,000.00 Certificate of Insurance naming the City as <br />an additional insured covering this extended period of time. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the following eight (8) traffic control devices <br />were approved: <br />INSTALL STOP SIGN - On Watford Lane at York <br />(Uncontrolled "T" Intersection).
