331 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 8. 1983 <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - CUSHING STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />(MC INTYRE & JONES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC.) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid <br />awarded today to McIntyre & Jones Construction Company, <br />2526 West 6th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of <br />$13,887.88 for the above referred to project, a contract <br />in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Kernan and carried, the contract was approved subject to <br />the filing of the appropriate insurance, Performance Bond <br />and Labor and Materials Payment Bond. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT <br />COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT CALVERT STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT (WALSH.& KELLY, INC.) <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that Walsh & Kelly, Inc. has submitted <br />Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the contract <br />amount be increased by $18,078.26 for a new contract sum <br />including this Change Order in the amount of $111,055.01. <br />Additionally submitted was the'Project Completion Affidavit <br />indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, Change <br />Order No. l (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit <br />were approved, subject to the filing of the appropriate <br />three-year Maintenance Bond. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED <br />(533 FELLOWS STREET) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Steve Szucs, 529 Fellows <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated his interest in <br />purchasing the City -owned property at 533 Fellows Street. <br />Mr. Szucs stated that his property (529 Fellows Street) <br />Adjoins this lot and he is interested in purchasing it. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Kernan and carried, the above request was referred to the <br />necessary City Departments and Bureaus for a determination <br />as to whether or not the City need retain the lot for any <br />reason. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />CONSTRUCTION OF BASKETBALL COURT BEHIND EAST <br />SECTOR POLICE SUBSTATION <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, <br />Public Works, requested permission to advertise for receipt <br />of bids for the construction of a basketball court behind <br />the East Sector Police Substation located at 420 East <br />Frances Street. Leszczynski, Director, <br />Public Works, requested permission to advertise for receipt <br />of bids for the reconstruction of Seebirt Place. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />
