331 REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 8. 1983 APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - CUSHING STREET IMPROVEMENTS (MC INTYRE & JONES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC.) Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded today to McIntyre & Jones Construction Company, 2526 West 6th Street, Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $13,887.88 for the above referred to project, a contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the contract was approved subject to the filing of the appropriate insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond. APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT CALVERT STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (WALSH.& KELLY, INC.) Mr. Leszczynski stated that Walsh & Kelly, Inc. has submitted Change Order No. 1 (Final) indicating that the contract amount be increased by $18,078.26 for a new contract sum including this Change Order in the amount of $111,055.01. Additionally submitted was the'Project Completion Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, Change Order No. l (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved, subject to the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED (533 FELLOWS STREET) In a letter to the Board, Mr. Steve Szucs, 529 Fellows Street, South Bend, Indiana, indicated his interest in purchasing the City -owned property at 533 Fellows Street. Mr. Szucs stated that his property (529 Fellows Street) Adjoins this lot and he is interested in purchasing it. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was referred to the necessary City Departments and Bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need retain the lot for any reason. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - CONSTRUCTION OF BASKETBALL COURT BEHIND EAST SECTOR POLICE SUBSTATION In a letter to the Board, Mr. John E. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested permission to advertise for receipt of bids for the construction of a basketball court behind the East Sector Police Substation located at 420 East Frances Street. Mr. Leszczynski advised that the City currently owns the property where the basketball court is to be constructed and no additional property will be required. Leszczynski, Director, Public Works, requested permission to advertise for receipt of bids for the reconstruction of Seebirt Place. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was approved.
