313 1 REGULAR MEETING JULY 25',' 1983 - During the working day, any vehicles or equipment within the alley must be able to be moved in the event of an emergency. - During the evening hours, the alley is to remain open and accessible to emergency vehicles if necessary. - Temporary closings of portions of Jefferson Street are to be handled through the Office of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting on an as -need basis throughout the construction period. - Contractor is to provide Type 3 barricades or an approved gate to cordon off the constrution area, installation of which is to be approved by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request, based on the recommendations of Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, was approved. REQUEST TO CONDUCT 14TH ANNUAL ST. JOSEPH COUNTY. MARCH OF DIMES WALKAMERICA - APRIL 28, 1984 REFERRED In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Thomas Burzynski, St. Joseph County Executive Director of the March of Dimes, 1507 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested that Saturday, April 28, 1984 be set aside for the 14th Annual St. Joseph County March of Dimes_WalkAmerica (Walkathon). Attached to the request was the route to be utilized which is the same route used in past walks. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation. REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED -PROPERTY REFERRED (732 WEST WAYNE STREET) In a letter to the Board, Mr. John Bunyon, 628 West Western Avenue, Apt. 413, South Bend, Indiana, indicated his interest in purchasing the city -owned lot at 732 West Wayne Street. Mr. Bunyon stated that he currently is maintaining a garden on the property through the City's Community Garden Program. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the necessary City departments and bureaus for a determination as to whether or not the City need retain the lot for any reason. REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - BELLE -VISTA (AUGUST 13, 1983) REFERRED In a letter to the Board, Mr. Darryl Simpson, on behalf of the residents of the thirty-seven hundred block of Belle - Vista, are requesting permission to conduct a block party on'August 13, 1983. He stated that the party to be held will consist of gospel music and many things concerning the Lord. There will be no alcoholic beverages of any kind served. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for review and recommendation.
