313 <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 25',' 1983 <br />- During the working day, any vehicles or <br />equipment within the alley must be able to <br />be moved in the event of an emergency. <br />- During the evening hours, the alley is to <br />remain open and accessible to emergency <br />vehicles if necessary. <br />- Temporary closings of portions of Jefferson <br />Street are to be handled through the Office <br />of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting on an <br />as -need basis throughout the construction <br />period. <br />- Contractor is to provide Type 3 barricades <br />or an approved gate to cordon off the <br />constrution area, installation of which <br />is to be approved by the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the above request, based on the recommendations <br />of Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, was approved. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT 14TH ANNUAL ST. JOSEPH COUNTY. <br />MARCH OF DIMES WALKAMERICA - APRIL 28, 1984 REFERRED <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Thomas Burzynski, St. <br />Joseph County Executive Director of the March of Dimes, <br />1507 Portage Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, requested that <br />Saturday, April 28, 1984 be set aside for the 14th Annual <br />St. Joseph County March of Dimes_WalkAmerica (Walkathon). <br />Attached to the request was the route to be utilized which <br />is the same route used in past walks. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Division for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED -PROPERTY REFERRED <br />(732 WEST WAYNE STREET) <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. John Bunyon, 628 West Western <br />Avenue, Apt. 413, South Bend, Indiana, indicated his interest <br />in purchasing the city -owned lot at 732 West Wayne Street. <br />Mr. Bunyon stated that he currently is maintaining a garden <br />on the property through the City's Community Garden Program. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above request was referred to the necessary <br />City departments and bureaus for a determination as to whether <br />or not the City need retain the lot for any reason. <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - BELLE -VISTA <br />(AUGUST 13, 1983) REFERRED <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Darryl Simpson, on behalf of <br />the residents of the thirty-seven hundred block of Belle - <br />Vista, are requesting permission to conduct a block party <br />on'August 13, 1983. He stated that the party to be held <br />will consist of gospel music and many things concerning <br />the Lord. There will be no alcoholic beverages of any <br />kind served. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was <br />referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Police Department Traffic Division for review and <br />recommendation. <br />
