310 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 25. 1983 <br />ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 19-1983 - DISPOSAL OF <br />OBSOLETE VEHICLE (FIRE DEPARTMENT) <br />RESOLUTION NO. 19-1983 <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public <br />Works that the following Fire Department vehicle is <br />obsolete and deteriorated to the point where repair costs <br />would exceed its value: <br />Fire Department - 1972 Plymouth (Unit #120) <br />Serial No. PK41G2D241970 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6 permits the sale of. <br />personal property no longer needed or obsolete. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Works of the City of South Bend that the vehicle listed. <br />above is obsolete and not needed by the City of South Bend. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Bureau of Vehicle <br />Maintenance be authorized to dispose of said vehicle and <br />to remove same from the City Vehicle Inventory. <br />Adopted: July 25, 1983 BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Assistant Fire Chief Richard D. <br />Switalski, was requesting permission to dispose of the above <br />vehicle as it is inoperable and unable to be repaired. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above Resolution was adopted. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - WILLIAM HACH & ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />JEFFERSON STREET PARKING GARAGE REPAIRS (CONCRETE REPAIRS) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that in accordance with the bid awarded <br />on November 22, 1982 to William Hach & Associates, Inc., 220 <br />Deerpath Road, Bensenville, Illinois, in the amount of <br />$136,623.25 for the above referred to project, a contract in <br />said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Mr. <br />Leszczynski advised that the garage repairs were bid in two <br />phases, one being electrical and the other being concrete. The <br />electrical work had to be completed before the concrete work <br />could begin. He stated that since the electrical work is now <br />completed, the above contract was being submitted and concrete <br />repairs would begin. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the contract was approved <br />and the required insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and <br />Materials Payment Bond were filed. <br />APPROVE C014MUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />HANDICAPPED ACCESS CURB CUTS <br />The targeted goal or the Handicapped Access Curb Cut <br />activity is to provide 7-10 short-term construction jobs <br />while enhancing the living environment of the elderly <br />and handicapped residents of the City.
