REGULAR MEETING JULY 18, 1983 <br />297 <br />I <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 9:35 a.m, on Monday, July 18, 1983, by President John E. <br />Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and <br />Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant <br />City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the request to advertise for receipt of bids <br />for the Crest Manor Retention Pond Repairs Project, the <br />request to advertise for receipt of bids for the Guard Rail <br />Construction -City Cemetery Project and a Title Sheet for the <br />Angela Boulevard Drainage Project were added to the agenda. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the minutes of the July 11, 1983, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING AND RECO14IENDATION - HOUSE MOVE FROM <br />316 EAST MONROE STREET TO 613 SOUTH RUSH STREET <br />This was the date set for the public hearing on the matter ,of <br />a house move from 316 East Monroe Street to 613 South Rush <br />Street. An application for a moving permit was received <br />from Lewis Mitschelen, d/b/a Buildings Moved by Mitschelen, <br />21190 West Johnson Road, South Bend, Indiana, to move the <br />two-story structure owned by Southold Heritage Foundation. <br />It was noted that the appropriate affidavits have been <br />received from the Park Department, Indiana Cablevision, <br />Indiana & Michigan Electric Company and Indiana Bell Telephone. <br />Additionally, Mr. Ralph Wadzinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting, has reviewed the house move application of <br />Lewis Mitschelen requesting the move to take place via <br />316 E. Monroe Street to Columbia Street, thence on Columbia <br />to South Street, thence on South Street to next door east <br />of 506, thence south through lot to 617 South Rush Street <br />And finds no objections. Further, Lewis Mitschelen has <br />provided the appropriate Certificate of Insurance in the <br />amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the City of South Bend as <br />an additional insured. There being no one present to speak <br />for or against the move, upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the moving permit <br />application of Lewis Mitschelen received a favorable recom- <br />mendation and was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIRE DEPARTMENT AMBULANCE <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed <br />bids for one (1) type one Modular Ambulance for the South <br />Bend Fire Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publica- <br />tion of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids <br />were opened and publicly read: <br />INDIANA EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT Bid was signed by Robert H. Hawk, <br />DIVISION OF H.E.C. Non -Collusion Affidavit was in <br />112 Shadowlawn Drive order and a Bid Bond,in the amount <br />Noblesville, Indiana 46060 of $5,500.00 was submitted. <br />PRIMARY BID: $50,927.00 <br />ALTERNATE #1: 45,764.00 <br />MC COY MILLER, INC. <br />P.O. Box 993 <br />25883 North Park <br />Elkhart, Indiana 46514 <br />PRIMARY BID: $46,164.00 <br />LESS TRADE 10,164.00 <br />NET AFTER TRADE 36,000.00 <br />Bid was signed by Lester C.
