262 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 13, 1983 <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - 900 BLOCK <br />ADAMS STREET (JUNE 19, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager,. <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Mr. C. Perry Wroblewski, 906 North Adams Street, South Bend, <br />on behalf of the residents of the 900 block of North Adams <br />Street to close the 900.block-of North Adams Street for the <br />purpose of holding a block party and recommends approval. <br />Approval is subject to the maintenance of a.twelve (12) foot <br />clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The <br />petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of <br />the street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting.. Additionally, the Bureau will deliver <br />a "street closed ahead" sign to be placed on Adams Street at <br />L.W.W. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. <br />Hill and carried, the above request to conduct a block party <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - <br />1100 VICTORIA STREET (JUNE 18, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of <br />Ms. Debra Trippel, 1119 East Victoria Street, South Bend, and <br />Ms. Michelle Fluegge, 1127 East Victoria Street, on behalf of <br />the residents of the 1100 block of Victoria Street, to close <br />Victoria Street from Miami Street to Marine Street during the <br />hours of 3:00 p.m, to 9:00 p.m, on Saturday, June 18, 1983 <br />for the purpose of holding a block party and recommends approval <br />Approval is subject to the maintenance of a twelve (12) foot <br />clear and unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The <br />petitioner is responsible for the closing and opening of the <br />street with barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting. Upon a motion made by Tor. Leszczy'nsk :;-econded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - <br />EDGEWATER DRIVE (JUNE 18, 1983) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager, <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, has reviewed the request of Ms. <br />Lori Frey, 507 River Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, on behalf of <br />the Edgewater Place Neighborhood Association to have the 500 <br />block of Edgewater Drive closed to traffic from the intersection <br />of Arch and Edgewater on one end and Monroe and Edgewater on <br />the other end on June 18, 1983 (with a rain date of June 19, <br />1983) beginning at noon for the Edgewater Place Neighborhood <br />Association annual block party and recommends approval. Approval <br />is subject to the maintenance of a ten (10) foot clear and <br />unobstructed lane for emergency purposes. The petitioner is <br />responsible for the closing and opening of the street with <br />barricades to be provided by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. <br />Additionally, one (1) "street closed ahead" sign will be <br />delivered and should be placed on Monroe at River Avenue. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr.. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the following seven (7) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />INSTALL NO -,PARKING - North side of 1000 E. Ewing, <br />from Miami to lst alley West. (area in front of <br />new library). Requested by: Bureau of Traffic & Lighting. <br />INSTALL NO PARKING__-__2223 Miami, from Ewing to library <br />driveway (s:rea in front of new library) Request by: <br />Bureau of Traffic & Lighting. <br />1 <br />
