251 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 6, 1983 <br />equal opportunity to all firms interested, the proposal <br />process through the Board of Public Works is being utilized. <br />Chief Brassell indicatedthatthe facility chosen should be <br />located within the City of South Bend, should provide a <br />fully equipped and professionally supervised exercise <br />facility including locker and shower facilities at the <br />principal location, provide on staff, a qualified exercise <br />physiologist to supervise and administertheprogram, assure <br />presence of qualified medical doctor(s) to supervise maximal <br />stress tests and provide a detailed proposal related to <br />performing certain physical evaluation on approximately 230 <br />male adults. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Hill and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS - <br />INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR'SAFETYVILLE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Jack Benchik, Treasurer of the <br />Mayor's Citizens Traffic Commission requested that the Board <br />of Public Works advertise an invitation for recein,t of <br />insurance proposals for insurance coverage for Safetyville <br />and its related equipment and materials. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - MONROE <br />PARK PHASE IV CURB & LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Neil Shanahan, Manager, <br />Bureau of Construction, requested permission to advertise <br />for receipt of bids for the above referred to project. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - MONR.OE PARK PHASE IV CURB <br />AND LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS'PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheet for the above <br />referred to Project was being presented to the Board at this <br />time for approval and execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above <br />Title Sheet was approved and executed. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS <br />PAINT AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT NEIGHBORHOOD PAINT -UP PROGRAM <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Janet Holston of the Bureau <br />of Housing requested permission to advertise for bids from <br />area paint distributors for the supplying of paint and <br />technical assistance to the Community Development Neighbor- <br />hood Paint -Up Program. Ms. Pfotenhauer advised that it is <br />the desire of the Bureau of Housing that an award be made <br />on the same day which bids are opened. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the <br />above request was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Ms. Katherine Barnard, Director of the Department of Code <br />Enforcement requested permission to advertise for the sale <br />of approximately nineteen (19) abandoned vehicles, ten (10) <br />of which were valued at over One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) <br />and all of which were being stored at Hurwich Impoundment <br />Lot, 1610 Circle Avenue. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than the required thirty (30) days, <br />identification checks had been run for auto theft, and the <br />owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the request <br />was approved and a date of June 20, 1983 was established <br />for the receipt of sealed bids. <br />
