REGULAR MEETING MAY 23, 1983 223 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday,. May 23, 1983, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. AGENDA ITEM ADDED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, a request for an intended use hearing on the proposed expenditure of Revenue Sharing funds was added to the agenda. ANNOUNCEMENT - NEXT MEETING DATE Mr. Leszczynski advised that because City offices are closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, 1983, the next meeting.of the Board of Public Works will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 1983 at 9:30 a.m. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the minutes of the May 16, 1983, regular meeting of the Board were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - MAPLE ROAD INTERSECTION TURN LANES ON S.R. 23 This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: RITSCHARD BROS., INC. 1204 W. Sample Street South Bend, Indiana TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: Bid was signed by Donald Ritschard, President and Carmelo Ritschard, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order land a 57, Bid Bond was submitted. $75,188.29 GEYER CONSTRUCTION & DEV. CO. Bid was signed by William A. Geyer, 67475 Kenilworth Road Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Lakeville, Indiana 46536 and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $75,025.75 RIETH-RILEY CONSTRUCTION CO. Bid was signed by R.L. McCormick, P.O. Box 1775 Supt., Non -Collusion Affidavit was South Bend, Indiana in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $84,430.41 ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION, INC. Bid was signed by Ben Ziolkowski, 1005 South Lafayette President and Roberta Ziolkowski, P.O. Box 1106 Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit South Bend, Indiana was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $84,149.27 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineer's Estimate on this Project is $87,600.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Depart- ment for review and recommendation.
