1`212 REGULAR MEETING MAY 16,.1983 WALSH & KELLY, INC. Bid was signed by Thomas 0. Walsh, 24358 State Road 23 President and D. Joyce Glass, South Bend, Indiana 46614 Assistant Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was.submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $36,414.50 Upon a motion made by Mr.Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineering Depart- ment for review and recommendation. OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY 633 LA PORTE AVENUE AND 522 & 524 EAST OH"I'O STREET It was noted that May 9, 1983 was the date set for the opening of bids for the sale of the city -owned lots located at 633 LaPorte Avenue and 522 & 524 East Ohio Street but because no Board meeting was held that day, bids were being opened today. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication.of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Mr. Leszczynski stated that no bids were received for the property located at 633 LaPorte Avenue. One bid, received from Mrs. Rolean Woods, P. 0.. Box 202, South Bend, Indiana, was received for the property at 522 & 524 East Ohio Street. Mr. Leszczynski stated that the property was appraised at a price of $480.00 and that Mrs. Woods offered $525.00 for the property. Upon.a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the bid of Mrs. Woods in the amount of $525.00 was accepted and the matter referred to the Legal Department for the drafting of the appropriate Purchase Agreement. OPENING OF BIDS - RETENTION BASIN AND DITCH SYSTEM RUM VILLAGE INDUSTRIAL PARK This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the retention basin and ditch system - Rum Village Industrial Park. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: WOODRUFF & SONS, INC. Bid was signed by Frederick E. P.O. Box 450 Woodruff, Vice -President and Michigan City, Indiana 46560 and William H. Yentes, Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 51/0 Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $293,935.60 H. DE WULF MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, 58600 Executive Drive President and Nancy Egierski, P.O. Box 986 Secretary, Non -Collusion Affidavit Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF .BID: $266,231.05 RITSCHARD BROTHERS, INC. Bid was signed by Donald Ritschard, 1204 W. Sample Street President and Carmelo Ritschard, South Bend, Indiana 46619 Executive Vice President, Non Collusion Affidavit was in order and a 5% Bid Bond was submitted. TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $347,693.30 Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Engineer's Estimate for this project is $295,733.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bids were referred to the Engineer- ing Department for review and recommendation.
