196 REGULAR MEETING APRIL 25, 1983 The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m, on. Monday, April 25, 1983, by President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the minutes of the April 18, 1983, regular meeting of the Board were approved. AGENDA ITEM'MOVED Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Public Hearing on the intended use of Revenue Sharing funds for the Western Avenue Economic Development Initiative would be held later on in the meeting as the person from the Department of Redevelopment speaking on the issue was detained. OPENING AND AWARD OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the sale of approximately eight (8) abandoned vehicles, four (4) of which were valued at over One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and all of which have been stored at the Hurwich Impoundment Lot, 1610 Circle Avenue. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. Following that review, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the following bids were awarded: Hurwich Iron Co Kowalski Bros. - Vehicle No. 1 $21.80 3 20.80 4 20.80 5 1.00 6 21.99 7 21.99 8 20.80 - Vehicle No. 2 $52.00 GRAND TOTAL: $181.18 OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY (217 N. KENMORE, This was the date set for receiving bids for the sale of the city - owned property at 217 North Kenmore. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. Mr. Leszczynski noted that the City's offering price, based on an appraisal, was $220.00. The following bid was opened and publicly read:
