92 <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 18, 1983 <br />Additionally, the following two (2) craft booths are not being <br />recommended for approval: <br />1. Hope Gulker <br />2. Flo Fluty <br />Mr. Kernan stated that one (1) craft booth is being recommended <br />for tentative approval. The operators of the booth are to <br />comply with criteria set forth and sell only handmade items <br />and crafts. <br />Ms. Dobski advised the Board that this year fourteen (14) new <br />craft booths will be involved in the festival and two (2) new <br />food booths. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above recommendations as presented were accepted <br />and approved. <br />APPROVE ETHNIC FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Mikki Dobski stated that in order <br />to promote and enhance the Ethnic Festival, the following activities <br />are being submitted for Board approval subject to the appropriate <br />insurance and licensing requirements: <br />1. Muscular Dystrophy Association Bed Race - <br />Sunday afternoon, Jefferson Boulevard. <br />2. Youth Service Bureau Diaper Derby - Saturday <br />afternoon, no location specified at this time. <br />3. Fire Department Water Ball Contest - Saturday <br />afternoon, Michigan St. between Washington & Colfax. <br />4. Hot Air Balloon Race - 6 p.m. Saturday or Sunday, <br />weather permitting. Location same as last year, <br />grassy area in the Block Six Office Park. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above request as submitted was approved. Ms. Dobski <br />was instructed to contact Mr. Ralph Wadzinski of the Bureau of <br />Traffic and Lighting concerning the best location for the events <br />scheduled. <br />APPROVE SENOR KELLY'S SITE PLAN FOR OUTDOOR GARDEN <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised the Board that Mr. Edgar L. Davis, <br />Managing Partner, Senor Kelly's Mexican -Irish Cafe, 119 North <br />Michigan Street, presented to the City for approval a proposed <br />site plan for an outdoor garden located on the property currently <br />being leased to them by the City of South Bend. The plan as <br />submitted was reviewed by Mr. James Seitz, Park Superintendent, <br />and he recommends approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded.by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above site plan was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE LEAGUE PARADE REFERRED <br />In.a letter to presented to the Board, Mr. Robert Gorbacz, <br />President of the Matthys Little League requested permission to <br />conduct an opening day parade on Saturday, May 21, 1983 starting <br />at 9:30 a.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded <br />by Mr. Kernan and carried, the above request was referred to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Traffic Division <br />for review and recommendation. <br />1 <br />
