179 <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 11, 1983 <br />AWARD BID - GASOLINE AND FUEL OIL <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Sean Watt, Director, Division <br />of Transportation, recommended the Board accept the following <br />as low bids meeting specifications: <br />Smith Petroleum <br />Item Jfl Regular gasoline - <br />transport <br />@ <br />$.8159/gal. <br />Item #2 Unleaded gasoline - <br />transport <br />@ <br />$.8434/gal. <br />Pierceton Trucking <br />Item #3 Diesel/Heating #1 <br />- transport <br />@ <br />$.7863/gal. <br />Item #3 Diesel/Heating #2 <br />- transport <br />@ <br />$.7163/gal. <br />Item #3 Fuel Oil #4 <br />- transport <br />@ <br />$.7346/gal. <br />Circle Oil <br />Item #i Regular gasoline <br />- tank wagon <br />@ <br />$.855/gal. <br />Item #2 Unleaded gasoline <br />— tank wagon <br />@ <br />$.885/gal. <br />Item #3 Diesel/Heating #2 <br />- tank wagon <br />@ <br />$.778/gal. <br />Berreth Oil <br />Item #3 Diesel/Heating #1 <br />- tank.wagon <br />@ <br />$.846/gal. <br />No award will be made at this time for either regohol <br />or gasohol. <br />Vendors are to supply proof of adjustment or price for <br />each delivery if so instituted. No price adjustments <br />will be made without such proof. Laboratory testing <br />of products will be done randomly. <br />It was noted that bids for gasoline and fuel oil were opened <br />at the Board meeting held on March 28, 1183. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the above bids as recommended were awarded. <br />AWARD BID - SOUTH BEND AVENUE SANITARY SEWER PROJECT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Neil A. Shanahan, Manager, Bureau <br />of Public Construction, recommended the Board award the low bid of <br />LaFree Excavating Company, Inc., 11252 West Third, Osceola, <br />Indiana, in the amount of $39,449.25 for the Sanitary Sewer, <br />State Road 23 (South Bend Avenue), (83-6) Project. It was <br />noted that bids for this project were opened at the Board <br />meeting held on April 4, 1983. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above bid <br />in the amount of $39,449.25 was awarded. <br />APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS <br />The following Community Development Contracts were presented to <br />the Board for approval: <br />Contract with Department of Redevelopment and Economic <br />Development for Monroe Park Development Activity. <br />The targeted goal for the Monroe Park Development <br />Activity is to complete all aspects of the residential <br />and business acquisitions and relocations in the industrial <br />and commercial portions of the Development area. Sell <br />3 parcels and create 60 new jobs in the industrial <br />area, prepare brochure marketing industrial area. <br />The total cost of this activity shall not exceed <br />$75,000.00. <br />Contract with Department of Redevelopment and Economic <br />Development for Economic Development Planning for <br />Studebaker Industrial Corridor Activity. The targeted <br />goals for the Studebaker Industrial Corridor Development <br />Activity include public works such as street and sidewalk <br />improvements, environmental improvements and truck/rail <br />access improvements. In addition, an action -oriented <br />marketing plan designed to intensify job creation and <br />structure utilization is comtemplated. The total cost of <br />this activity shall not exceed $150,000.00 <br />
