49 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 14, 1983 <br />Motorola's David Spensley stated verbally <br />that these were accidentally placed in the <br />prime under Item 28, Quantity 4 and Item 31, <br />Quantity 4 and would be installed in a <br />suitable mounting case also at no charge <br />so there would be no optional charge to <br />the City. These items are to be installed <br />in the Supervisory Office and the Commander's <br />Office. <br />Instant Recall Recorder, Page 20 of Specs. <br />This calls for seven recorders in the specs <br />and Motorola listed six. They stated <br />verbally that a seventh would be provided. <br />Warranty <br />Motorola equipment is one full year on all <br />parts and the first 120 days on all labor. <br />ComCenter is one year replacement on Modules/ <br />Sub Modules and Components from date or <br />purchase. It further guarantees all new <br />equipment to be free from defects in material, <br />workmanship and title. <br />Both companies certify that parts replacement <br />are readily available and Motorola states <br />that it is common practice that replacement <br />parts are carried by them for a period of <br />ten years from installation. <br />ComCenter stated that they will maintain a <br />stock of replacement parts for each item <br />included in the console system for the <br />established life of the equipment or <br />for as long as the consoles are in actual <br />service, whichever is greater but not to. <br />exceed fifteen (15) years. <br />In order to analyze comparable bids, the following <br />comparisons were made: <br />In reviewing the Motorola bid proposal, the <br />following listed items are most necessary <br />for the operation of the Central Dispatch <br />Communications System. Those items are: <br />Items 1, 2, 3, Plus Optional Bid Items <br />la, ld, le, If, lg, lh, li, lj, lm, In, <br />lo, 1p, lq, and lr (with" quantity of 4) . <br />These Items Total $150,297.00 <br />Plus Installation 8,500.00 <br />Plus Spare Parts 3,389.00 <br />Grand Total $162,186.00 <br />In reviewing the ComCenter bid proposal,' the <br />items listed in their bid which are most <br />necessary for the operation of the New <br />Central Dispatch Communications System are: <br />Items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. <br />These Items Total $142,949.00 <br />NOTE: ComCenter's installation and spare parts <br />costs are listed in Item 1. <br />Mr. Zubler has compared each proposal and found that they both <br />comply generally with the specifications. Additionally, con- <br />versations were had with three (3) satisfied console customers <br />of Motorola and three (3) satisfied customers of ComCenter. <br />
