Bid was signed by Mark Haskins, <br />64704 U.S. 31 Vice -President and Eileen <br />Lakeville, Indiana 46536 Haskins, Secretary, Non - <br />Collusion Affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />TOTAL AMOUNT OF BID: $1,016,899.25 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to the City Engineer's <br />Office for review and recommendation. <br />AWARD BID - RADIO COMMUNICATIONS CONSOLES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Glenn W. Zubler, Director, Radio <br />Communications, recommended the Board award the bid for radio <br />communications consoles and related equipment to the ComCenter <br />Corporation, 7810 Burnet Avenue, Van Nuys, California, as the <br />lowest bidder in the amount of $142,949.00. It was noted that <br />bids for this project were opened at the Board meeting held on <br />January 24, 1983. Mr. Zubler further stated in his letter that <br />in order to analyze comparable bids, the following comparisons <br />were made: <br />Both companies meet the basis requirements of the specifica- <br />tions with the following exceptions or deletions: <br />U. of Addendum No. 1, Page 2 of 5, Recessed Radio <br />Controls.. "The station and radio control panel <br />shall be mounted in the writing surface titled <br />approximately 150 from the horizontal for easy <br />access and shall be located between the keyboard <br />control and the vertical panels." <br />Motorola did not comply as their methodology <br />differs. These controls are horizontal mounted <br />in vertical panels. <br />ComCenter complies with Recessed Radio Controls. <br />B.B. CRT Keyboard Filler of Addendum No. 1, Page 3 <br />0 5. "A Keyboard Recess Filler shall be provided <br />for each cutout which will provide an even surface <br />with the rest of the writing surface. It will be <br />used until the CAD system is installed.` <br />Motorola did not address this in their proposal. <br />However, David Spensley stated verbally that we <br />could cut out a section of the writing surface <br />when installing the CAD system or they would comply <br />and install a cutout and block for the Keyboard on <br />our request before delivery. <br />Spec. O. Electronic Master/Slave Digital Clock <br />System. A panel -mounted direct reading four - <br />digit electronic Master/Slave digital clock <br />system shall be provided so that the clock may <br />be set from the front of the console. <br />In the Motorola proposal, no mention was made of <br />a Master/Slave Clock System. It reads 12/24-hour clock. <br />ComCenter complied with specs. <br />General Description, Page 2 of Specs. Item 7.. <br />An eight -unit monitor panel to be mounted on <br />wall or desk top. <br />
