9-5 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 10, 1983 <br />UMBRELLA COVERAGE <br />To be placed through the Bath Agency using the Guarantee <br />National Insurance Company at a premium of $17,784.00. <br />Additionally recommended was that the cost of additional <br />limits of coverage of up to $25,000,000 be.studied <br />over the next few months. Higher limits are recommended <br />as a precaution to the City. <br />CRIME INSURANCE <br />To be placed through the Miller Agency. This was the only <br />quotation received. <br />Additionally, Mr. Kernan thanked all carriers who submitted <br />proposals for insurance coverage and thanked the members of <br />his staff who spent time reviewing the proposals with <br />Corporate Policyholders. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the above recommendations of Corporate Policyholders <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR STAFF SUPPORT - SOUTH BEND <br />DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION AND CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Ms. Eugenia S. Schwartz, Assistant City Attorney, advised the <br />Board that because the South Bend Development Corporation and <br />the City of South Bend share many areas of mutual concern, <br />this agreement will provide for the provision of staff <br />support by City employees to the SBDC. She also stated <br />that the Common Council in Ordinance. No. 7094-82A authorized <br />the City to enter into this type of agreement. Duties <br />performed will directly relate to carrying out redevelopment <br />and/or economic development and/or community development <br />plans of the City of South Bend. Mr. Hill stated that this <br />Agreement was approved by the Executive Committee of the <br />SBDC at their meeting a week ago. Upon a motion made by <br />Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the Board <br />approved this Agreement. <br />APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />AND TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 364 <br />Mr. Joseph E. Kernan, City Controller, submitted for Board <br />execution the Agreement between the City of South Bend and <br />Teamsters Local Union No. 364, effective January 1, 1983 <br />through April 30, 1985. Additionally submitted were <br />supplemental agreements for the following city bureaus <br />for 1983 with Teamsters Local No. 364: <br />- Bureau of Cemeteries <br />- Bureau of Building Maintenance <br />- Bureau of Waste Water <br />— Bureau of Water <br />- Bureau of Streets <br />- Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance <br />Neighborhood Code Enforcement <br />- Bureau of Sanitation <br />- Bureau of Solid Waste <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />Mr. Kernan stated that this two year agreement was negotiated <br />with the Teamsters Union which represents approximately 300 <br />hourly city employees. Upon a motion made by Mr. Kernan, <br />seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the above agreement and <br />supplements were approved. <br />
