87 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 4, 1983 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened <br />at 9:35 a.m., January 4, 1983, by President John E. Leszczynski, <br />with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. Richard L. Hill and Mr. Joseph E. <br />Kernan present. Also present was Assistant City Attorney <br />Carolyn V. Pfotenhauer. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, the minutes of the December 28, 1982, regular meeting <br />of the Board were approved as submitted. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED - ELECTION OF BOARD PRESIDENT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Hill, seconded by Mr. Kernan and <br />carried, Mr. Leszczynski was elected as the President of the <br />Board of Public Works for 1983. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - 1983 AUTOMOBILES FOR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the purchase of <br />approximately nine (9) 1983 automobiles for various departments. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Basney Ford of South Bend Bid was signed by James A. Basney, <br />320 East Ireland Road non -collusion affidavit was in <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 order and a 10% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />1 or more 1983 Ford Rangers $7,865.92 each <br />trade-ins totalling: $1,500.00 <br />7 or more 1983 Ford Escorts $6,537.66 each <br />trade-ins totalling: $3,900.00 <br />1 or more 1983 Ford Fairmont Futuras $7,482.00 each <br />trade-ins totalling: $1,100.00 <br />1 or more 1983 Ford LTDs $8,389.04 each <br />trade-ins totalling: $1,100.00 <br />Gates Chevy World Bid was signed by Charles J, <br />P. 0. Box 4056 Lindzy, non -collusion affidavit <br />401 S. Lafayette Blvd. was in order and a 10% bid bond <br />South Bend, IN 46634 was submitted. <br />1 1983 Chevrolet Pick -Up <br />Model CS10803 $ 9,050.50 <br />Less trade-ins 1,429.50 <br />Net Bid: 7,621.00 <br />1 1983 Chevrolet Malibu $ 9,052.00 <br />Less trade-ins 1,698.00 <br />Net Bid: 7,354.00 <br />7 Chevrolet Scooters <br />List Price ea. $ 6,173.00 <br />List Price for 7 $48,211.00 <br />Less trade-ins 6,410.00 <br />Net Bid: 36,801.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and <br />carried, the above bids were referred to Mr. Sean Watt, Division <br />of Transportation, for review and recommendation. <br />
