REGULAR MEETING, <br />NOVEMBER 22, 1982 <br />51 <br />1 <br />1 <br />REQUEST FOR BIKE-A-THON REFERRED - APRIL 30, 1983 <br />A request was received from Mrs. Mary Detert, 2915 Bonds <br />Avenue, for permission to conduct a Bike -A -Thou on April <br />30, 1983, entitled "Cycling Against Cancer Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />and the Police Traffic Division for review and recommendation. <br />FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS <br />A list containing 58 lots ordered cleaned by the Director of <br />the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was submitted. It <br />was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up <br />the lots and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill and carried, the environmental <br />list was filed. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS <br />Two license applications for Open Air Stand licenses for the <br />purpose of selling Christmas trees was received by the.Board. <br />Ross Perri was requesting the license for property at the. <br />northwest corner of Jefferson and Logan, and James Frick <br />was requesting a license for the parking lot of Ford's Dairy <br />Queen, 4531 South Michigan Street. It was noted that <br />permission from the property owner of Ford's Dairy Queen <br />was attached to Mr. Frick's application and that a letter <br />of permission from Don Newman, owner of the Jefferson and <br />Logan Street lot, would be forthcoming. Mr. Leszczynski <br />noted that the lots were properly zoned for the commercial <br />purpose, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting had no <br />objection to the sale of the trees provided that at least <br />five off-street parking spaces were available at Mr. Perri's <br />location and that the entrance to U.S. 31 at the Ford Dairy <br />Queen lot be kept open at all times for vehicular passage. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above license applications were approved <br />and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance, <br />subject to the above recommendations of the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting. <br />APPROVAL OF HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the following handicapped parking permits were <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for <br />issuance: <br />Wendy Bess, 57621 Woodrow, Elkhart <br />Reah Donahue, 311 Rue Flambeau, Apt. 511, S.B. <br />Howard Bright, Jr., 705 S. 35th, S.B. <br />Mrs. Wilfred L. Carmon, 922 Geyer, Mish. <br />Merl Hileman, 19659 Cowles, S.B. <br />Catherine Nanney, 4136 Winthrop, S.B. <br />Robert Lechtanski, 51570 Orange, S.B. <br />APPROVE RELEASE OF CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P.E., recommended release of the following <br />Contractor and Excavation Bonds following his review: <br />Contractor Bonds: <br />Marathon Petroleum Company <br />Richard H. Allriedge <br />Excavation Bond: <br />Thomas Brittain, d/b/a B & B Plumbing <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Hill <br />and carried, the above Bonds were released. <br />
