REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 8, 1982 <br />Marshalling area: Williams Street from <br />Washington to Western, Jefferson Boulevard <br />from Taylor to Williams and Wayne from <br />Taylor to Lafayette. Also a portion of <br />Washington Street from Williams to Franklin <br />Place will be used to marshall the Shriner's <br />motorized vehicles using the south -one half <br />of the street. <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting also recommended the closing <br />of the middle and south lane of Washington Street from Main to <br />Lafayette for the annual observance of Veterans' Day at the <br />Courthouse Monument on November 11, 1982, starting at 10:45 a.m. <br />to 11:30 a.m. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the above recommendations for the Marine Corps <br />Race, the Holiday Parade and the Veterans' Day celebration <br />were approved. <br />FILE ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS <br />A list containing 17 lots ordered cleaned by the Director of <br />the Neighborhood Code Enforcement Office was submitted. It <br />was noted that property owners had been advised to clean up <br />the lots and had failed to do so. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the <br />environmental list was filed. <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE CITY -OWNED PROPERTY REFERRED (630 E BROADWAY) <br />A request was received from Mrs. Lue Jarrett, 526 E. Broadway, <br />inquiring into the possible purchase of a city -owned lot <br />located at 630 East Broadway. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the request <br />was referred to the various city agencies for a determination <br />as to whether or not the lot need be retained for any reason. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S BOND - A. BROOKS CROFOOT <br />Mr. Ray S. Andrysiak, P. E., recommended approval of the <br />Contractor's Bond of A. Brooks Crofoot, 514 W. LaSalle <br />Avenue, retroactive to November 4, 1982. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan and carried, the <br />Contractor's Bond was approved as recommended. <br />APPROVE HANDICAPPED PARKING PERMITS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Kernan <br />and carried, the following handicapped parking permits were <br />approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for <br />issuance: <br />John Vleaminck, 213 N. Ironwood. S.B. <br />Casimer L. Hartwick, 1413 N. Wellington, S.B. <br />Leona H. Berkheiser, 3518 Northside, Apt. A-1 <br />Ina Schrader, 51444 U.S. 31 N., S.B. <br />Harry Johnson, 1217 N. Meade, S.B. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Elroy J. Kelzenberg, Director of the Michiana Area CETA <br />Consortium, submitted purchase orders totalling 4 to be paid <br />out of FY 1982 funds, and purchase orders totalling 56 to be <br />paid out of FY 1983 funds, and recommended approval. Chief <br />Deputy Controller Sherrie L. Petz submitted Claim Docket No. <br />21278 through No. 21772 and recommended approval. Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Kernan, seconded by 11r. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the reports were filed and the claims approved. <br />
